Iconic restaurant located at Charni Road, perhaps needs no introduction, was in the vicinity and was craving for some yummy Chaat and fast food! Shiv Krishna was our stop for that night. Named after two deities, one can expect it to be an all veg restaurant. The moment you enter the restaurant you can see beautiful paintings of Lord Krishna in various a avatars all over. Restaurant has two levels, upper deck has AC. Talking about what all we had at Shiv Krishna -As mentioned earlier was craving for some Chaat so we started with Sev Puri. Neatly presented to us. Sev Puri is usually famous of all street vendors and hawkers in Mumbai but you get a similar taste of it sitting in the comforts of this place. We followed it up with Veg Pizza. I would personally say it’s made in the Indian way and I have no qualms in saying that I love the pizza made in this style. Very homely style and I enjoyed it.Along with food, we ordered for couple of drinks – Paan Mojito and Kit Kat Shake. Mojito was refreshing with fresh Paan flavor. Good part is no essence. Kit Kat Shake was decent. Moving on, we next tried the famous Pav Bhaji of Shiv Sagar. It definitely features amongst the top selling list and most popular dish. Again presented in a very neat way. Was pretty stuffed by now, but the manager suggested us to also try the Tandoori Cheese Kulcha which is a relatively new dish introduced by the restaurant. Served in a starter format, so quite unique in its way. Stuffing is a mix of paneer and cheese mashed well and grilled well. Stuffed in Kulcha covering and kept in tandoor. Would recommend people to try this dish in case they haven’t tried it elsewhere.Last but not the least, was really excited to have the Cassatta ice-cream. Have had it really long back and was excited to see it as a part of the menu here. A combo of chocolate, tutti fruti, butter scotch ice-cream with nuts used for garnishing. Just loved the ice-cream and would love to revisit the place just for this again. All in all a pleasant experience at Shiv Krishna. The staff was courteous and helpful. Those who have already visited the place would recommend them to revisit and those who haven’t would recommend to pay a visit soon when in the neighborhood!Jatin Shah
