I love the ambience here, it definitely has a very lively and pleasant atmosphere. We ordered quiet a few dishes among them the Spinach and corn omelette ,pasta and mocktails are recommended . Not a huge fan of burgers or Pizza here as I found them extremely bland. For appetizers Nachos with Salsa is recommended here, you may enjoy cheese and Corn Bullets but definitely with a sause.

Experiencing any form of art par excellence pretty much evokes a similar sentiment. On the same note, there couldn’t have been a more fitting description for Fergusson College Road’s Café Kathaa than Merton’s idea of art. An old bungalow that has been remodelled into a quirky, bohemian and calming avatar, Café Kathaa boasts of rows of spectacular vertical gardens, making the décor undoubtedly ultra instagrammable! Continental, especially Italian, burgers, pizzas, smoothies and detox alternatives, desserts, in addition to comfort food are the range of gastronomic indulgences you can choose from. 100 marks to the Pineapple and Ginger Healer, Grilled Cottage Cheese and Melon Salad, Spaghetti with Lemon Butter and Almonds, Egg Sushi and the delish Mexican Coffee Shake that we downed and could not get enough of! “We have something for everyone, whether it is books, good food, beverages, board games or events. Also, we are work-friendly and offer wi-fi, printing and scanning services for the millennial professionals, who prefer working from a venue of their choice than the confining interiors of a typical workplace,” explains Nivedita Atre, the driving force behind Café Kathaa. A former lawyer practising at the Bombay High Court, Nivedita was always in pursuit of a creatively satisfying and fulfilling vocation. With Café Kathaa, she found her inner calling, and her passion-driven approach is traceable in the eclectic nature of the place. True to its name, the café is home to more than 800 books (English, Marathi and Hindi): a feature that instantly connects it to city’s band of bibliophiles, who are always on a hunt for good books and soothing reading spaces. At the same time, there is no dearth of action-packed happenings at the café, given that it lights up and regularly hosts poetry slams, open mics, stand-up shows, art exhibitions and workshops, and storytelling sessions, and so on. Cafe kathaa is based right in the heart of FC road, in lane opposite to Hotel Vaishali.Head to this place for Instagramic ambiance, books to read and delicious food!Here we tried,Pizza Valparaiso – 270 – ⭐⭐⭐⭐The best part is it’s a thin crust pizza with lots of cheese and lots of toppings. Put some oregano and you are sorted :)Penne on confit tomato Sause – 270– ⭐⭐⭐⭐Penne in red Sause with cherry tomatoes, broccoli and corns with a slight touch of black papper. Exactly the way I like it!Triple Dekker Sandwich – 220– ⭐⭐⭐A typical 3 layered sandwich with Coleslaw, veggies and cheese mixture.Salted Caramel and Pretzel Shake – 200– ⭐⭐⭐The combo of Vanilla ice cream and caramel combined with Pretzel is bang on. I was here with a friend today morning. This is probably the best book cafe in the city. Good collection of books, an ambience that will draw you in, pop of colors and great lights. They have indoor and outdoor seating available, both offering their perks. As soon as I entered, I loved the vibe of the place. Staff were ok, they can be more friendly. Menu lacked veg breakfast options. They need to have some more veg breakfast options. I only had a black coffee which was good but portion could be bigger for the cost. Overall a great place to sit, read, hangout with friends, get some work done. Do visit!
Visited this place while was waiting for friend. Ambience is nice and cozy. Lots of books to read. Staff was courteous. Some corners could use bit of lighting. Restroom was dirty. That’s off putting. Tried their tea, which was refreshing. One more additional point – being a breakfast place, rather than having only sandwich, parathas and salad??? as Veg options in breakfast – Could definitely expect few more options for vegetarians.Friend ordered americano – found it good.Overall 3. Scope of improvement is there.
Its a beautiful cafe located on the hustling FC road !Their cold coffee is just perfect! It’s a perfect place to hangout with friends(they have various board games and card games), do your work(free WiFi), or just read (a good book collection and Kindles on every table ) . Cafe kathaa is located off fc road in converted old bungalow. They have lots of books in english marathi and hindi to read while having food.They serve mostly breakfast items such as sandwiches,omlette, burgers, and other menu items like pizza, pasta, shakes, cold brews etc.The ambience is very good and cafe is also pet friendly which is rare. They have nice WiFi so you can continue working while having food.We tried following foodPizza valparaiso (₹270) :Thin crust pizza with bell pepper, corn, jalapeño, tomato and fresh bocconcini. The pizza was average.Cheesecake milkshake (₹200) :Cream cheese, cake crumble topped with whipped cream and sprinkles.Ambience 4/5Food 3/5Service 3/5VFM 3/5Overall 3/5
