Chaitanyas Banglore Iyengar Bakery serves the softest cake I have ever eaten. So I happened to see this bakery and wanted to try out something new. So I went there and asked for a chocolate truffle cake and as I had the first bite it was like heaven in my mouth.I could literally feel the layers of the chocolate filled inside dripping through my tongue. The cake was very fresh. The iyengar bakery had a lot of variety of cakes from banana cakes to black current and butter scotch. They also have home delivery which is a very convenient thing for a cake fanatic like me. The rates are not very high. Very reasonable. And they also have some offers on buying cakes in advance. Great place to try out if you crave for a nice chocolate cake.
Can rely on this Bakery, if you don’t have any branded cake shops around. This outlet is pretty small, but their racks are always full of cakes, pastries & Veg puffs – basically these are the running items here & the USP of any iyengar bakery in the city.I love their Veg pattice/puffs, Rawa cake & chocolate-vanilla cake(must try) here.
They have started recently in my area and they have taken up well. They have their regular cakes like milk cake, chocolate cake and my favourite fruit cakes. Their pastries have an excellent icing and their biscuits are really yummy.
I had eaten their cake first around a year back from the dadar branch however, never really got a chance to get back there.Bumped into this place again a while back and I was so delighted! This chain of bakery seems to have taken the city by the storm. So many branches have opened up that now its just a stone’s throw away from my place too! I have tried 3-4 of their cakes and puffs. Sooji / Rava Cake: holy cow! This is the awesomest sooji cake I have ever eaten. Buttery, soft and extremely melt-in-the-mouth. I always pack this one when meeting somebody who’s new in town. I cross my heart and recommend this! My absolute favourite!Sponge cake: Oh dear, its so soft and the texture is perfect, so much that you actually feel you’re eating a sponge! Again, try this out too.Plum cake: The slight sourness of the plums combined with the sweet cake and raisins.. Great combo!Vanilla Muffins: Sweet, soft with tutty-fruity. I liked it.Methi khari: Flaky and buttery. The freshness of methi is heart warming especially with a cutting chai ;-)All in all, the best part is all their bakery items are eggless!! Such a welcome change of having so many options to choose from :PDo try the cakes and let me know! If only they had some seating area it would have been much more enjoyable !
If u r looking for some quick snack and bored of the usual samosa, vada pao etc – head to this place for some nice veg patty, paneer patty and masala pao. However, the best and not to be missed here is the reva cake. They are simply awesome. One request to the management – please introduce some more snack items ans tea/coffee.
