Vateshwar Bhuvan belongs to the highly revered club of traditional puneri misal houses which have been in the city for decades. And now they have expanded into a franchise with their second outlet in karve nagar. This new outlet has opened barely a month ago. I read about this outlet in their newspaper pamplet and couldn’t keep away from this place for a long time. So, one fine saturday morning my misal craving overwhelmed me and I found myself making my way to this place. I visited Vateshwar bhuvan last saturday around 11′ o clock. This place isn’t difficult to locate. It is in front of Tathawade garden. Parking space is available on road. Honestly, when I first entered this place, I was a bit disappointed. It is a single shop outlet. It’s quite small. But that’s acceptable. What disappointed me was that they do not have tables and chairs for customers to enjoy their misal. They have placed high tables for you to stand and have your misal. Not exactly comfortable, is it ? They have just one table with proper seating on the outside, but that too cannot accomodate more than three people. The ambience is average. The place is clean and hygienic. One more peculiar thing about this place was that it was empty. There were no customers even on a saturday morning when other misal joints are overflowing with them. Coming to the misal itself. We ordered misal along with taak. Taak was good. The misal also was good. But in my opinion, it lacked the flair. It lacked the extraordinary touch which would make it stand out from other misals. It tasted normal. I agree, there was nothing wrong with the misal. I couldn’t pick out any flaws. But it wasn’t mind blowing either. It wasn’t too spicy. A bit too generous with the potatoes. It was served with bread slices. The staff was poilte and efficient. Well, why wouldn’t they be efficient if we were their only customers ? The service was fast. The quality and quantity both were satisfactory. I felt the price is a bit on higher side considering the overall food and experience you get here. This place is a safe bet when it comes to misal. The misal isn’t bad at all that it will spoil your breakfast/lunch. But isn’t extraordinary either that it will make you drool over it.
Nice Misal. Pls be consistent. I love to take home misal from here. Its a must try for all. A really good misal option in karvenagar. Not too spicy.

I visit Vateshwar Bhuvan like every week.Very underated on Zomato, but they serve kick-ass misal.What makes them special?They make the misal with White Grams (channa) not legumes (matki).They serve the misal with a bread slice not pav, as the pav hinders the taste of bedgi mirchi in it. (But you can ask for a pav if you prefer that.
Vateshwar Bhuvan Misal @Karve Nagar – Many of us would be familiar with this misal which has their main branch at Bhavani peth from many years. Was happy to see they started at Karve nagar too. Visited this place over the weekend and was not disappointed at all. Key differentiator is they use pandhara watana ( while gram) instead of matki in their tarri. Also chivda ( mixture) is made of kaccha poha which gives this misal unique taste. Not very spicy but has amazing taste. Place is small but clean and well maintained. During rush hours it might not be possible to get place the sit so parcel option recommended. This is located at Karve nagar opposite to Tathawade garden. Near Manisha bhel.
Vateshwar bhuvan is new addition to the many misal joints in karvenagar area. The other branch is located in timber market bhavani peth. I had previously visited there so decided to try the location here in karvenagar.Misal consisted of vatana poha shev chivda. Sample given in separate bowl and is unlimited.2 bread slices given.Misal tastes different due to different ingredients and its not extremely spicy. It certainly is good and different. Other items on menu are matar usal buttermilk and curd misal. Restaurant is clean and self service. Seating arrangement is not table with chairs but tall table and bench.
Tried this month old branch of famous Vateshwar bhuvan at nav sahyadri area. I would say welcome addition of misal joint in this area.Now the misal consist of smashed potato’s, poha, dagadi pohe, pandhara watana and shev. Tarri provided in seperate bowl (unlimited) along with 2 big slice bread. I must say very distinct taste it has. Not much spiced but very flavourful. Taak here is one of the best i must say, goes well with misal. Owner also provided us sample of matar usal which was gr8 too. Surely want to try next time.Self service place very much clean and fresh ambience but no dedicated seating place (hardly 2-3 people can seat and eat). Due to some setup issues they have not yet kept table chairs setup but soon those will be placed as confirmed by owner. So as of now parcel is the only best option if you don’t want to stand and eat.Ambiance 3/5Food 4/5Cost 3/5
