I’ve been to this place a couple of times. The food is very good, not too spicy not too oily. Very simple and a good variety of vegetables and farsan. The tastes of all sabjis, farsan and buttermilk are very good. The person in charge, I mean the owner of the hotel actually comes to you to personally ask if there’s any problem or if everything’s ok. If you have a problem he will see to it that the thing is fixed as per your convenience. So much of a personal touch I’ve never ever seen in any restaurant.
I went here for lunch one afternoon. Chetna is actually the name of the Gujarati thali place at the back of Bombay Hotel, which serves breakfast and snacks. The food was cooked well, with all the flavors well-balanced. The service was nice in an old-time way, with the person in charge coming by during the meal to check that everything was going well and asking after the meal if one was satisfied. The only improvement is that the courtyard that separates the front and back was very muddy. This ought to be cleaned up. Otherwise, a perfect place on Laxmi Road to eat lunch.
