A few months ago I visited Pune for a family event and stayed at a hotel in Kalyani Nagar. Accompanying me were my parents and we together, after a long tiring 5 hour car journey, felt the need of some food in our tummy.We made up our mind for some satisfying food not belonging to the categories of Italian and Chinese. We came across a board displaying seafood buffet at Arctic and were skeptical if we could consume this humongous meal. Leaving that thought there itself, we crossed the street to find another place that would be a little light on the tummy. We wandered around for quite a long time only to find ourselves back at this seafood restaurant.On first thought, I found this place to be small than what it appeared on the outside. We climbed up the stairs to the less spacious dinning area and took to the first table among a couple of tables. We were greeted by a staff member and soon afterward began deciding on what to eat.Instead of the famous buffet we opted for seafood and chicken thali. But before our thali arrived, we were served with salad containing cucumbers, carrots and cabbage in a mustard dressing. The start of our lunch was set with this delicious salad (for which we ordered a second round) and we were thus very excited for the main dish. Both the thali arrived at an interval of a couple of minutes and we were all set to dig into it.Food items served in the chicken thali were Chicken sukka, chicken gravy, sesame chicken, rice and roti. From all the dishes on the plate, I liked the sesame chicken and coconut based sukka.Seafood thali consisted of Crab curry, basa fish fry, surmai fish fry, prawn sukka, rice and roti. I loved the masala on the basa fish and its succulent meat. The only negative thing was the crab curry which was a tad bit salty.My food experience at Arctic was great with a tummy filling delicious thali to satiate my hunger. Though I’ve not tried the other items, I’ll definitely visit this place once again to try their seafood buffet. So I’ll give this place a thumbs up to anyone who loves a thali or something fishy.
A small eatery at Kalyani Nagar with seatings indoor and outdoors.I was looking for a take away and since I was the only person consuming the food so had to be sure on the quantity.Had a quite detailed discussion with the server and he suggested me Bombil which is not deep fried and will consist of 2-3 boneless pcs and also Mustard chicken almost the same portion size. That sounded good which I could consume by myself so took that along with Crab Soup.- Bombil Fish: Bombil or few people call it Bombay Duck. It was tossed with Rava which tasted good but the quantity was way too much, there were around 9-10 pcs and it was not Boneless at all, it had a tiny bones which made it very very difficult to have. Couldn’t eat more than 3.- Mustard Chicken: Same here, the portion was huge. And the item was disappointing as well. It lacked flavor and totally dry.- Crab Soup: It was creamy but could feel the crab shells with every spoon of soup.Overall, huge disappointing from the lack of knowledge the server had. If you are not sure please consult and confirm. Don’t blindly say which you don’t know. Food wise it didn’t impress much as well.
I really used to liked food at Arctic once upon a time, but it’s sadly very disappointing now. Sadly, I fed my guests really poor food from here this evening. I honestly did not like even one of the food item that I ordered this evening, which is sad. It’s definitely not worth the money I paid. You guys really need to up your game.
Great place for seafood lovers !! U get crabs , prawns,octopus and lot of other fish varieties..The cost is reasonable , ambience lacks a bit but all other things like taste, variety, reasonable pricing make up for it ..Go for it !!
For the only authentic unlimited seafood buffet in Pune,Arctic is the place to be.Serves a wide variety of seafood which includes Rohu,Basa,Bombil,Prawns,Crab malai curry.Icecream with hot brownie is the tip of the iceberg.Staff was nice and the entire food will be served on the table.A must go for seafood lovers.
