They say that food is the key to a man’s heart but to say that the food at Kangan holds the key to anyone and everyone’s heart would be an understatement. Yes, we recently were invited over to this lovely fine dine restaurant and have nothing but praises. The ambience is calm and soothing, the service is so prompt and the staff are extremely hospitable. Here’s a list of the dishes we tried:1. Before we got to the order they served us with a basked containing thin crisp strips of a masala naan/roomali roti to get the ball rolling. It was divine! 2. Subz Tarkash Ki SeekhVegetable skewers cooked in a charcoal oven. It’s a complete treat if you’re a lover of subtle Indian favours & because it’s topped with a layer of Cheese! 3. Murgh Kalmi KebabThis starter was the highlight of the evening. It is just what you need if you love your tandoori chicken starter to be rich and well spiced. It is one of the best tandoori chicken dishes we’ve ever had and we highly recommend you to order this dish. 4. Matka MurghA chicken curry to have as a main course. Again, a dish that was packed with a lot of flavours but relatively thin in its consistency. It goes amazingly well with a paratha. 5. Dal Kangan (Black Dal)Would we be lying if we said this was one of the best Black Dal we’ve had in forever? Not at all. This rich, beautiful Dal is one thing that you can’t miss out on when you visit this restaurant. It will leave such a lasting impression on you, it’ll be tough to stop thinking about it for even days after you’ve visited this place. A Must must try. Note: Do not consider this as any other dal that can easily be had but make sure you leave an adequate amount of space in your stomach for this dish- it completely deserves it!6. We also had the Roti and they were kind enough to customise our Naan to a chilli garlic naan. Both the bread supremely fresh and flavoursome. 7. Appletini – We also sipped on this unique mocktail that was packed with a punch of Indian spices like Dalchini, laung, chilly and much more. All in all, the place is a complete treat for you if you’re a North Indian cuisine lover. It’s a must-visit. We had an amazing time. Before we forget, they even gave us a tiny little goodie bag with an actual pair of Kangans to wear (for the ladies of course) and a box of assorted chocolates (for both of us). Apart from the lovely ambience that the restaurant has, the property – Westin Hotel in itself from both outside and inside is breathtaking and elegant to say the least.

It’s been quite sometime that I have been to Kangan. Went there yesterday for dinner. Must admit they have reinvented a whole lot of things. From sitting, cutlery to decor, it now gives feel of a fine dining restaurant.Ordered:Khakra Nashila ChapMatka Murgh Chicken tikka masala Amrud ki sabji Jalapeño laccha paratha Roomali Roti Narangi kulfi Though everything was good but Amrud ki Sabji and Matka Murgh were amazing.Food – 5/5Ambience – 4/5Service – 4.5/5

I visited Kangan for their special ‘Thali of India’ and came out impressed.Priced at 999+taxes, my vegetarian plate consisted of:*Subz Gular ke kebab*Paneer Tikka*Dal Kangan*Kadhai Paneer*Arbi ka Salan* Mixed vegetables*Kadhi Pakoda*Burani Raita*Dahi gujiya*Khamiri roti*Balushahi*Kesari rasmalaiEach item was executed to perfection and the thali is unlimited (not that you’d have any space left for repeats).I was especially impressed by how each curry was strikingly different from the others in terms of flavour. It’s also a great way to try out several offerings without having to shell out a bomb considering the place is so premium. If you enjoy Indian cuisine, you should definitely put this on your list. thevegetarianfoodie.food.blog
