Minority by Saby is one such restaurant that took my heart away…not just for the food but for the theme, ambiance and most important the history behind…Don’t go by the word – Minority…Here is why the name is – Minority is the name taken from the word Miners. The restaurant is by Celebrity Chef Saby who belongs to Asansol (West Bengal). The city is a miner’s city who spend most of their life excavating coal. He himself was brought up at miner’s society and has themed the restaurant to the minors as a tribute to them.Ambiance –You will see impressions of a miner’s life all over. From miner safety hats to the coal used on the bar to the equipment used for mining, all placed differently to bring out a perfect ambiance. You would correlate to a miner if you know the background story. They also have a rooftop space which is very colorful and beautiful. It is a perfect place for nice a cozy romantic dinner.Food –Talking about food…well not just the food but even the cocktails are so well made that it surely gives you a feeling that yes you are at the right place .Handai Madi – This one was served in aluminium matka in cute sizes. Beer base with some cream on top. Start from the smallest matka to get that perfect kick.3 penicillium shots -3 injections put together on a wooden stand with liquor with chilly base…if the chatka of chilly is what you like then go for it all at once. You will love the after feeling.Starters – Signature Black Chicken was so well made with all spices well balanced and the color had that perfect cal like texture. Delicious and so soft.Tribal fish finger – You will feel the tribal flavors with each bite you takeMain course –It was very diff to choose but something out of the box with tribal flavors was Hill Coriander Sichuan Prawns with Raagi Crackers. Break the cracker and have the prawn curry with it …dip and savor…thank me laterDessert – Miners Devil Cake in desserts has layers of dark chocolate with cream on top. It’s bitter in taste with smooth texture. A perfect choice for dark chocolate loversPlease do visit this place once to feel the miners passion and the love for tribal food, all at the same place. shadesofexpressions.wordpress.com

The first impression of the place was quite unique. The decor inside resonated well with the theme of coal mine. The menu was elaborate and the dishes were well cooked. The taste was on point. The people were well versed with rhe menu and gave good recommendations. We had ordered Shillong mylliem chicken and evergreen chicken. Both were amazing!Despite everything, I couldn’t help but give a bad rating. The place claims to stay open till 1:00 AM. When we were there, they started wrapping up. Till that point it was fine. But at 12:09 AM they also switched off the lights of the entire terrace save the area we were sitting. Not only that, at the same time we were eating, the waiter came up and asked if we had any other orders. We said no, then he instantly got us the bill making it a clear indication that they wanted us to leave.

Went here on Saturday. The place looks beautiful but the lights are too dim to take good pictures.Coming to food, it was just too good! The staff was extremely courteous and gave us out some really good options.I only wish there were more options in desserts menu.I will rate this place 4 on 5.

There are few restaurants only which depicts any story behind it, and mineority by saby is one of them. The theme of the restaurant is based on the miners and the mining community of India. Celebrity chef Saby belong to Asansol, a coal excavator’s town in West Bengal. Born and brought up in mining society he tributed Mineority by saby to all miners with a curated menu.Visited this place few days back and without a doubt this place serves awesome food. Ambience is beautiful, they have a rooftop area as well.Tried some amazing mocktails.✓ Coconut melon smoothie: A health, refreshing smoothie with sweetness of coconut and melon. Thick and creamy it was.✓ Black forest cherry+ chocolate: It was pleasantly sweet in taste. Chocolate shake topped with lots of whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and cherry at the top. Loved it.Starters:✓ Kalimpong Cheese chilli roll: Deep fried spring roll sheets stuffed with lots of cheese and sprinkled with chilli powder. Highly recommend.✓ Latin queso Fondido: Crispy nachos served with Creamy cheesy Fondue. Highly recommend.✓ Ghee roast chicken: A classic manglorean style ghee roast chicken. Soft and juicy chicken pieces that tasted tangy and spicy. It was flavourful.✓ Black chicken: Grilled chicken marinated in black sesame seeds. Chicken pieces were tender.Main course:✓ Chingri Malai Curry: Chingri Malai curry basically a popular bengali curry made from prawns and coconut milk. Curry was silky smooth creamy yet unexpectedly light gravy and flavoured with Indian spices. Served with buttery rice and topped with mustard sauce.✓ Imperial ronghun Khowsuey: Highly recommend for vegetarians.Desserts:✓ Miners Devil Cake: Layered with dark chocolate and topped with cream and chocolate frosting. This Miner dark devil cake has a rich bitter flavour and a smooth texture. A treat for all dark chocolate lovers✓ Tres Leches Cake: Made of three different layers of milk. Sweetness was well balanced and it was soft.Service was good. Gonna visit soon. 🙂

Mineority By Saby, is one of the few restaurants in Pune which has been established with the theme behind it. The theme is basically of the mining and the miners. So if you visit the restaurant you will see canary birds all over the walls. The ambience fascinates one who is inquisitive enough to know new things. Seating arrangement is spacious and even the charcoal painting will attract your attention. Staff is honest and service provided by them is quick and prompt is highly appreciable. What foodiesoulmates hogged on-1. Kalimpong Chilli cheese roll- Crispy rolls were filled with lots of kalimpong cheese, mayo and coriander, served along with fresh dip and onions. A perfect dish to nibble on. #highlyrecommended2. Ghee roast- Marinated chicken chunks were cooked in ghee and manglorean masala. It was a flavourfu dish.3. Tandoori fish tikka- Fresh and juicy fish pieces were marinated in the blend of spices and grilled well. The charred flavour at every bite was enjoyable. The chutney complemented the dish. Do give it a try. #highlyrecommended4. Andhra green chilli chicken- This Andhra style chicken was rightly cooked in North side masala and green chillies. #highlyrecommended5. Chingri Malai Curry- Fresh prawns were cooked in coconut milk and masala and the consistency was good enough to have it with flavourful sticky rice which was served along with it.6. Miners dark devil cake- My fav indeed. All the dark chocolate lovers must definitely try it out. The mud cake layered with dark chocolate and was topped with cream, chocolate frosting and green apple. It was a sinful treat.7. Black forest cherry + chocolate shake- The perfect blend of chocolate and milk. Topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, Oreo biscuits and cherry. The consistency wasn’t runny. I loved it.Also you get a complimentary dish here I.e., Bhel along with the chutney. Sunday brunch is also available here. All in all, had glee time here. Looking forward to try out new dishes here.
