Playboy Beer Garden, KP’I was shocked. I did some research, turns out Playboy has nothing to do with rabbits or sports. You wouldn’t believe what I found on the internet?! Turns out Playboy is a quite a nice party place with good food and drinks! Who knew?’Playboy Beer Garden, KP is behind Hard Rock Cafe, Raga Lawns. In place of where Stone Water Grill used to be. It quite a pretty place, with quite interesting open air space, dance floor as well as an indoor section. The walls are full of Playboy bunnies and other Playboy related bits and bobs. But I have to say, I was rather unimpressed with the ambiance in genera. I was expecting a really luxurious space oozing excess and charisma, given the ‘Playboy’ name. It seems a bit run down and dingy. I mean it’s good enough for an office party or college party, but definitely not a place you’d take your special date or something. And the place definitely didn’t have a ‘vibe’ or ‘feel’ which you expect from a lounge or pub.DRINKS – We tasted a few drinks and they were nice. The Playboy Sour (their twist on a Whiskey Sour) was good and the Red Wine Sangria was excellent (though, it was served at room temperature). A orange, pineapple juice and Dark Rum based cocktail called ‘Bent Over Midnight’ or something was refreshing and amazing! Rest of the drinks, though, were quite decent, but weren’t really special. The drinks had so much ice in them that they just became super diluted within 5 minutes. They need to work on that. Also many of their specialty cocktails were unavailable.FOOD – This is where they do claw back a few points. I absolutely loved their sushi. The Prawn Tempura Roll and Tuna Sashimi were excellent. Beautiful to look at, as well was really satisfying to have, fresh and huge portion size. I would, for sure, go back just for this!Hefner’s Dream Pizza was amazing too! Thin crust, great fresh toppings, loads of cheese and great balanced flavour!Crispy Fish in Garlic Sauce was really flavourful, garlicy and crispy, excellent starter. The Chicken Badame Tikka was really nice, moderately spiced and cooked perfectly.Truffle and Edamame Dumplings and Vegetable Malai Seekh Kabab, lacked flavour and I wouldn’t recommend them.Mains – Chicken Kalimirch was a delicious curry. Moderately spiced, simple brown gravy, but amazing hit of black pepper. Really soul satisfying chicken curry. Paneer Tikka Masala was a total surprise. It was really tasty, punchy flavours, whole lotta spice and really soft paneer.Fiery Chicken Noodles Bowl was decent. Fairly spicy, loads of garlic, but had a bit of an artificial colour and taste. Wasn’t that great.Thecha Chicken Risotto was a total disaster. No flavour, extremely bland. It neither had the creamy herby flavour, an Italian risotto would have, nor did it have any hit of chili and garlic, a thecha would have.DESSERTS – They were superb!Pan Andes Chocolate Sphere – A delicious mess of dense chocolate, smokey roasted marshmallows, nuts, caramel pearls and kit-kats topped with gooey intense chocolate sauce. Amazing combination of tastes and textures. We couldn’t stop eating this! And it looked beautiful! The Bailey’s Kulfi was another amazing dessert. Creamy and really soothing with a hint of Bailey’s Irish Cream. I wouldn’t mind a bigger hit of Bailey’s, though! Why not!VERDICT – I wouldn’t recommend Playboy Beer Garden, KP very enthusiastically to most people. Unless you want to have an office party or college party. The sushi and some of the food is excellent. The desserts were amazing. But a lot of the drinks and the food is just above average. They really need to work on that. They need to make sure the ambiance is more appealing and luxurious, for sure. It has the potential but it isn’t good enough. The vibe is missing too, but I don’t know how you can build that, some places just have it, some don’t, I guess. May be with a group or when the place fills up, it may be better.
A perfect party place!Right from music, ambience, food offerings, service to VFM its a must visit place.I was invited recently to Playboy Beer Garden for food review. As soon as you enter, you see lit ambience, a nice bar tucked by a side and hear EDM playing at that DJ desk which surely going to make you move!We tasted below dishes :Vegetable malai sheek kebab – A very delicate kebab with minced veggies and cream mixed and cooked on grill topped with some spicy mayo and beetroot aioli drizzle. This one was good in terms of taste but was little dryish.Truffle and Edamame creamy dumpling – Creamy dreamy dumplings served piping hot along with red chilli dip and shallot, green onion dip. Tasted good.Prawns Tempura roll – A big chunk of sushi roll with ample filling of prawns tempura and rolled in maki sheet.Murg bhadame tikka – This had intriguing flavors with dash of spices and hung curd marinade the chicken tasted amazing. It’s a must try dish!Hefner’s Dream pizza Chipotle chicken – Their signature pizza with very less complex toppings. Nice thin crusted with good amount of cheese and olives, basil and Chipotle chicken chunks. This pizza is a winner!Skewers poutine sauce – Chicken cubes skewers along with yellow and red pepper with spicy hit and drizzled with poutine sauce. Chicken was hard a bit and for me this one was passable.Fish crispy garlic sauce – A gread dish which will go really well with beers! The sauce in which the fish was sauteed had nice garlic hit to it and spicy punch as well. Makes you wanna eat more and more of it.Sashimi – The Tuna Sashimi was mind blowing! Creamy tuna sashimi was just perfect! Highly recommended!MainsFiery chicken noodles bowl – Ok! I liked this one. Flat noodles with shallots and green onion tossed in hot wok served along with delicious chicken gravy. As the name suggest fiery, it wasn’t as fiery but was good enough for me. I have low tolerance for spicy food :)Paneer tikka masala and Chicken kalimirch laccha partha – I wasn’t expecting an Indian Punjabi dish to be this good at place like this, but to my surprise, these were too good! Perfectly balanced flavors.Thecha chicken risotto – Somehow this one didn’t impress me. It was way too bland, and didn’t had any thecha flavor in it. When I read Thecha risotto, I expected it to be bit on spicier side or something.DessertBailey’s kulfi with chocolate disc – Very flavorful kulfi and would recommend it definitely!Pan Andes Chocolate Sphere – So good it was! A chocolate sphere filled with nutty goodies, wafer chocolate, milk and dard chocolate chips and while serving they pour some hot chocolate over the sphere which had this theatrical effect when that sphere melted and at was then all about chocolaty goodness!Final Verdict -Food – 4/5Ambience – 4.5/5Service – 4.5/5VFM – 5/5.Cheers! chinmayireviews.wordpress.com
They have really tasty dishes to offer. One time visit is fine. I loved the ambience and the Dj. It was kinda really lively but the only thing I didn’t like was the crowd and that’s the only reason why I have given 4 stars. I feel crowd can sometikes get indecent. Rest everything is good and is a nice place to jam on the weekend. Do try paneer curry with butter naan here. Paneer tastes great. We had even ordered chicken olive oil black sesame which was something different than the usual but was worth it.
We chose playboy for birthday party. I went with Akshay More ,Priyanka Jadhav ,Akshay Khalate. Its situated in the place where stone water grill was. But the place is now more lively I love the lights ambience, music, everything is classy . Dancefloor and sitting arrangement is nicely done ,spacious .Service is little slow. But the staff is very polite.Food was not worthy according to the price. We have ordered veg non veg starter, veg non veg Pizza was not crispy . Food is ok ok but ambience covers it all.
Playboy kp is newly started at kp. Earlier it was used to be stone water grill.they nicely renovated the playboy kp.perfect lounge with a nice music and seating options .They have cabanas also for seating .We were here for Akshay Khalate ‘s birthday yesterday .Overall we liked the ambience and music a lot.but they lack on the food taste. We had food here and not of worth the money.tho a very nice experience because service was nice and if you love cocktails ,drinks and music then playboy kp is surely a place for you.Ambience 4/5Service 4/5Food3/5Average rating of 3/5
