Gar firdaus bar-rue zamin ast, hami asto, hameen asto, hameen ast !!!I haven’t seen the paradise, but I am damn sure Kashmir would only be better. Moreover, the food that this paradise has to offer can put any heaven to shame.A slice of that very paradise is right here in Pune, and it’s called Koshur Pakwaan. The food they serve is the closest it gets to the authentic Kashmiri Waazwan, only because their entire Kitchen Battery is from Baramula. And also the ingredients except Meats and Veggies are sourced from there. And believe me when I say closest to authentic, it’s because I know for a fact that what authentic means, courtesy the 5 years that I spent in this paradise. This Non Veg Thaal which they serve at the meagre price point of 680 is literally humongous. It has a Kebab, a portion each of Rista, Gushtaba and Nehari. Also it has a gigantic Roti called Lavasa, Steamed Rice, Kashmiri Pulao, Sooji Halwa and Kehwa !!!I literally struggled to finish it despite having a moderately good appetite, the portions in that Thaal were so huge. As far as the taste is concerned, it teleported me straight to the joints of downtown in Srinagar or for that matter, much famed Ahdoos, this says it all. Period !!!The best part about the food is that despite looking vibrant in colours, the taste was incredibly flavourful and the spice levels subtle to say the least. What actually stole the limelight from this Royal Meal was the ambrosial Kehwa that they served right at the end of the meal; as I was having it, the Chinars and the Kashtis and the Snow Peaked Mountains grazed my thoughts, all at once and I literally felt the touch of paradise enveloping me back in its warmth.I would highly recommend this place to everyone who calls himself a foodie and still hasn’t tasted this heavenly bliss.I dare twist the famous Khusro quote here ‘Gar firdaus bar-rue Zameen e Ponaa ast, Koshur Pakwaan-e asto, anja asto, anja asto’.Cheers. Ciao !!!
