Honestly speaking their bengali food is quite poor. I have been eating bengali food since a while on different occassions from different places and comparing that bong street cafe needs a huge improvement. A little too oily food still missed the flavours.

Disappointing. Gave them two opportunities. First with a Mutton Biriyani and then with Mutton Rezala, on two different occasions. The problem is with the taste. Both were quite tasteless rather. The Kolkata mutton biryani had no Kolkata style or flavor in it and was just not upto the mark on any parameter. The Rezala priced at a hefty Rs 300 had 2 small piddly pieces of mutton and was very sweet despite the description clearly saying ‘non sweet’.
The place is small and cosy with a pleasant ambience. We were there for the Mughlai food festival. The menu consisted of a chicken starter, chicken biriyani (Kolkata style with an egg and a potato), chicken chaap/chicken rezala and a dessert. The biriyani was unlimited and the quantity was good. Coming to the taste of the food: it was good but can be improved further. This is in comparison to the various food joints in and around Powai that serve Bengali food. The owner was cordial and she herself served her guests. I wish Bong Street Cafe grows into a prominent place among food lovers..
This place was visited with high expectations. A really cute place .. but the order was taken way too long to be served. We ordered the chicken biryani n mutton chaap.. the owner didn’t even bother serving it for us in two different plates. The meat was under cooked. On ordering veg crispy, jalepeno poppers were delivered. All in all a really lonnngg boring bad experience.
Very nice food and run by 2 passionate young people who left their regular jobs to start this venture. The Aloo Poshto, dal and laccha paranthas were quite amazing . The simplicity of the place and food was refreshing. Wish you guys all the best . Highly recommended!
Ordered Shorshe Rohu from here. Delivery was quick, quantity was good a half plate is enough for one person but when it came to taste it feels like the whole dish has been prepared with a bottle full of kashondi i cannot taste anything apart from that kashondi kind of taste i have to throw away half of the food as it was uneatable. Anyways Since it was my first order from here giving an extra star for that maybe the day was not good expecting other dishes will be good here.
