This is not a sit-down restaurant. While the place seemed like one where I wouldn’t want to try anything other than very basic dishes, we tried their Chicken Lollipop, which was really nice.
One of those places which redefine the word unhygienic at many different levels. Present opposite to Kala Niketan in the market on the main road, the place has a very unusual exterior and the name of the restaurant is no where close to giving it a hint of Chinese speciality.I’ve tried this place on two occasions and on both occasions I ended up wondering why. My first time was a month back while in search for Chinese street food restaurants around my place. Their option of home delivery wasn’t available due to shortage of staff which became pretty evident when I decided to go and collect the order myself. It’s not a place which is always in a very high demand maybe because the portions aren’t exactly dirt cheap and the fact that they don’t serve half portions but on Sunday’s, the place has a similar story to most of the restaurants in the city. Coming to food, my order was prepared right in from of me. There is just one so called wok and one cook who kind of specialises in the whole menu. Other people are just there, doing everything else, from cleaning to taking orders and multitasking by cutting capsicum, whose flavour overpowers each and every dish. A plate of chilly chicken rice was prepared in the most unhygienic manner possible and chicken sadly didn’t make an appearance till the last moment when the gravy was to be packed. Four tiny pieces of raw chicken were swiftly popped inside while they sealed the thing from above. A story of seeing the chicken fried rice cook from the same place too has a similar story to it. The noticeable things that I could gather were that inspite of everything, the portions being served by them are huge and should only be tried when one is willing to risk his or her health. And make sure you only try their non veg because veg is prepared in the very same wok as non veg and the only ingredient present inside is either cauliflower or capsicum.
Street Chinese !!If you go with an expectation to find the same quality food that you get a Chinese restaurant, you’d probably be disappointed. Because this is a place to enjoy fresh, hot, pocket friendly food.Have been eating here since college time, located at the end of Jamnabai Grounds, it was the most favorite place to eat chicken lollypops.Last night visited again. Though I was satisfied (because i didnt go with any such expectations) a friend with me was quite disappointed and didnt event finish his meal.To be honest the taste was good but the quality has deteriorated. The lollypops were as though the chicken was deformed and the coating was raw from insideOrdered for Chicken hot garlic rice and though the taste was good (nothing garlic about it) the chicken chunks added to it were uncooked. the coating was completely grainy and I could taste balls of refined flour.Overall the place is quite OK for the price they ask for it. I mean you cannot get everything in life you know.Cheerz!!
Brilliant food, especially the Schezwan fried rice. Cheap, at ₹95, but the best Chinese food around here. Open till 12 midnight. Portion is huge.
Good food. But always get a takeaway cause it’s on the road and beggars will annoy you Quantity is really good. And is super cheap 🙂
