  Brilliant food and well worth the rush of getting hereExcellent service and rely nice touch by the owner to to ask around at each table about the food. Definitely recommended if you like your Japanese food.

  Izumi is probably the most loved and hated restaurant to me at the moment. loved purely because of the ingredient quality, Taste , attention to detail in terms of Flavour profile, and customisation of the same to be authentic but pleasing to the Indian palette at the same time but of course not too much . Hated the strong word purely because, the ambiance and the staff attitude is way too elitist, the staff itself behaves way to pricey and arrogant atleast when you want or dont have a reservation.

  I had heard a lot of good things about this place and let’s just say even the race reviews I had read didn’t prepare me for the experience!The first thing you notice is the decor, it is very much like a Izakaya if a bit more upscale one.The food was simply to die for,I tried the Philly Salmon Maki, California Rolls, Yakitori, Sashimi Salad as well as the Pork Ramen, Buff Donburi, Katsu Chicken Curry, and more and loved each and every dish.The ramen is definitely a stand out with its meaty broth and the maki rolls as well for all the suprising flavours with every bite!But the star dish was the Sashimi Salad, never tasted anything like it and I’m hungry for more!

  Izumi has shot to popularity and is visited by the who’s who of Mumbai. An inconspicuous Japanese restaurant with an authentic vibe and well designed seating around the bar.StartersAgedashi tofuTwo fried pieces of tofu dipped in konbu dashi which is a dark coloured sweet sauce. Well prepared but the quantity was meagre.Philly teriyaki shitake sushiPhilly cream cheese sushi with shitake mushrooms,pokchoy and cucumber. It was presented well and tasted good too.MainsVeg shoyu chintan ramenThis was brilliant and definitely must be tried when you visit. I had the regular one which consisted of tofu, black fungus, bamboo shoot, vegetables and noodles. Vegan friendly.Spicy veg chirashi rice bowlIt was a disappointment and the excessive spice completely marred the flavours. Also we had to wait nearly an hour for this! Double bummer.Food: 4/5Service: 3/5Ambience: 4.5/5Value for money: 4/5Final verdict- Its a 4 thanks to the amazing ramen.

  Finally visited izumi. Had to been a week prior. The food doesn’t disappointed. Have tried many sushi places in Mumbai and this is definitely one for he best. It’s was also surprisingly not very expensive as compared to other places with similar cuisine. The service is okay nothing great. Tried the tofu one which can be easily avoided. Loved the other two- crispy salmon and spicy tuna. Dint have many drinks but had to order wasabi whiskey sour- definitely something different and yummy. Would love to try more next time. Really wanted to try the cheesecake but unfortunately it was not available. Will visit again to have the cheesecake, may be also try the rice bowl and ramen.
