Went here last night eaten with a company of Rats and 2 friends. The Bira Boom and Kingfisher Ultra were Rs. 165 and Rs. 185 respectively but those two not being on menu were Charged as Rs. 285 & Rs.325 so these sound good for shady deals.Food was okayish but don’t know how many rat spice were added for superiority.
Pathetic Service By This Janta Restaurant. If You Are Ordering Food Via Phone Your Call Will Be Responded By an ‘Anna’ Who Doesn’t Know English Nor Hindi. Partially Deaf. Have To Repeat Your Order Thrice Bcoz Partially Deaf Anna Guy Doesn’t Note Order Properly. I Ordered Chicken Manchurian (GRAVY) & Chicken Fried Rice. But This Partially Deaf Anna Doesn’t Seems To Note My Order Properly. He Took As Much As 45 Mins To Deliver My Order & After Calling The So Called Restaurant For 2-3 Times, He Yelled At Me & Told Me To Return My Order. But As Soon As He Hang Up The Phone, My Door Bell Rings & There It Was My Order I Was Delighted But Since It’s My Standard Practice To Check The Ordered Food. I Was Shocked To See That It Chicken Manchurian Was DRY, While I Ordered Gravy. I Called Back Janta Restaurant & The Partially Deaf AnnaYelled at Me Again & He Started Accusing Me That I Changed My Mind To Not To Take Order So I am Making This Silly Excuse, I Told Him Twice That It Was Chicken Manchurain Gravy. But Yet He Again Yelled At Me. So I Returned My Order & Swear It I Will Not Order Again From Janta Restaurant. GO TO HELL YOU PARTIALLY DEAF ANNA
This place is one of those bars for people who visit bars in evening as a daily ritual. The place has multiple levels. Ground floor, AC section on upper floor (cramped) and the terrace section. The rates are decent for booze and the food is ok. You need to tell how you would want your food. I ordered Chicken Chilly once and told my preference and it was a decent dish for the price they charged. You can try if you want cheap booze and food in Kandivli east (close to the station/Ashok Nagar).
So seems mine is the first review of this restaurant. This place has two levels. Lower one non- A/C is as good as a bar-only. The entire lower level was stinking of alcohol. This made my friend uncomfortable and we went to the upper AC section which was a little better than the former. The food here was quite delicious and very cheap. Got quick service.So in case ur bored to cook at home and want to dine out in very limited budget, this is the place for u! Dont expect a great ambience though..
