Mumbai got 1 more Afghan Casual Dining in Kamla Mills. If you want to have afghan or Iranian food this the place perfect for you. This place has bar also with casual dining which serves Kebab, Iranian and Afghan Dishes.Ambience:- As you enter one thing you surely notice that royale feeling. They have put the theme of black and gold. The music was Arabic which was not understood but it was going with the place and we enjoyed it. The Sitting was quite comfortable. They have sat for 4 people to 10-12 People on a single table. The places can easily hold 60-70 people at a time. There was a bar on one side and mirror with lighting under them on the other side. They have put the hanging lamp on each table. You will get the feeling you are having lunch/dinner in the Arab country..For Ambience 9.5/10Staff & Service:- We had a warm welcome from the staff and guided to the sitting area. As soon as we get seated the guy who was going to attend came to us with the menu and water. We went through the menu and decided. As we telling the dishes to that person he was telling how the dish was made will it be sweet or spicy. The staff had a good knowledge of every dishes which is important. We finalized the dishes and waited for drinks and food.In some minutes we got our drinks and without much time waiting for the dishes started to come one by one. Service was quite good..For Staff & Service 9/10Food & Mocktails:- We had a couple of mocktails with 1 Veg 1 Non-Veg Starter, A Non-Veg Biryani, A Veg Main Course and A Dessert..Raw Mango Lime Crush – Raw Mango with the lime juice. It was a little sour but it was good. 5/5.So Berries – Two berries mix with maple syrup and cream. It was sweet but the berries taste was really good. 4/5.Hussaini Paneer Tikka – Paneer coated with malai and grilled. It was a little sweet but it was really good and the paneer was so soft. 5/5.B**hd*di Murgh Tikka – Chicken tandoor coated with malai and grilled. It was a little spicy and taste was unique but very tasty. 5/5.Murgh Parda Biryani – Biryani with lots of spices. The chicken has a normal taste but the rice was really good. Every herbs and spice which is used was tickling every bud on tongue. 5/5.Samarkand Paneer Korma – Cashew Cream Gravy with big chunks of paneer in it. It was a little sweet and a little spicy. 4/5.Umali – Condensed milk with nuts and dry fruits. It was the best dessert I ever had in life. Must-Try 5/5.For Food & Mocktail 9/10Overall Experience was good. It is must try place for some unique dish with mid-Asian dishes..Overall Rating 4.7/5.
Can food be this tasty? I didn’t know. Visited this place on a Friday afternoon for lunch and I was spellbound. Being vegetarian did not really expect this.We started with wilted spinach and pistachio soup which was really well cooked and flavoursome. We then ordered silky musroom galawats with yoghurt cream which I thought was slightly less in quantity but nevertheless yum.For the main course we ordered Damboli which is just a mixed veg sabji with Afghan khameeri and taftan.Damboli though a simple subji, it was cooked in whole spices and very very flavourful. Also, the khameeri n taftan are quite heavy but amust try.We ended this amazing meal with umali. It’s bread cooked in condensed milk and loaded with nuts. It was mind-blowing.Oh and btw the ambience is also very rich just like the food.
Loved the food specially the tomato soup with crispy okra in it. The crockery used were beautiful and the dal makhani was too good. Enjoyed the live music and the singer was really good.
