The Night Chulha is your go to place when you have guests come over and you don’t intend to run your own chulha. Massive expectations from this place considering the food I reviewed initially, but massively disappointed to how it ended up being served. The place is a delivery joint that specialises in Mughlai food in the wee hours of morning. The service was extremely slow and the main course had spices mixed with layers of oil and water. The entrees did and the desserts did exceptionally well, but left a bad after taste for the 300+ guests that were made to wait for over 45 minutes. Hara Bhara Kebab: Moist pieces with a burst of flavour from the use of spices and coriander leaves. The right size and tender pieces made everyone go gaga over it instantly. (5/5) Gulab Jamun: The speciality of The Night Chulhaa. You may want to skip desserts thinking you’d get yourself some ice-cream or cake or maybe some other sweetmeat, but when you opt for their desserts blindly opt for the Gulab Jamuns. You’d thank me and kiss the chef for sure. (5/5) Laccha Paratha: Soft and tender, fresh off the stove. Laccha Parathas were everything you’d need when relishing chicken or paneer gravy. It was indeed awesome. (5/5) Mutton Seekh: Another blissful dish. You can’t just stop at one piece. Perfect marination, beautiful texture, supremely aromatic and the zing of the green chutney made the Seekh a dish an absolute hit. Be it kids or adults everyone was raving and I couldn’t stop gushing over how awesome everything has turned out to be. (5/5) Hara Bhara Chicken: Juicy pieces of chicken that were grilled, but ended up being burnt in a bid to be on time. The ones that came off on time were beautiful and were munched happily whilst being rolled in Parathas for the perfect chicken roll. (3/5) Chicken Tikka Masala: Disappointment came in right after I decided to call this little shack a 5 on 5. The chicken gravy was reeking of oil dug fresh out of a Saudi well and the gravy was submerged in water. Add to this the inability to be able to be on time and serve the guests that were made to wait for over 45 minutes. (1/5) All in all, The Night Chulhaa definitely has a lipsmacking menu and a chef that knows how to nail the dish every single time. However, the staff lacks cooperation and time management takes a major hit. The joint comes across as inattentive and food that is otherwise every bit amazing comes to be served only to save time and grace and yet fails on several levels.
