Hello to all the foodies out there. This time we visited the place called white charcoal which is in Andheri West. This place is famous for the modernization of the Indian dishes. Every dish has a little twist which looks great and tastes great.Ambience:- As we enter we see the beautiful combination of classic white and black. The name stands by its meaning as soon as we see the ambience. They had just worked on the seating and the floor but still, it was looking royale. There was slow music was also going on which turned our mood warm..For Ambience 9.5/10Service & Staff:- We had a warm welcome from the staff and guided to our seating. One guy came and put the table cloth on our lap and another guy came with some yellow liquid in the jar and dry ice another vessel. He pours the dry ice in the yellow liquid which cover the whole table in the smoke and had a very quiet pleasant aroma surrounding us and the table. then we got a salad with chilly powder and jeera salt powder and watermelon chat. The service speed was average but quite bearable..For Staff & Service 9/10Food & Drinks:- We had a cocktail, a mocktail, a couple of starters, a couple of main courses and a couple of desserts..Before serving any dish we were served with salad and watermelon as a sort of waiting for timepass. Watermelon chat was really good..Strawberry Sunset ( Mocktail ) – Strawberry puree with the soda. It was fizz. It was good. I was feeling like I am having strawberry. Best Strawberry mocktail I ever had. Must-Try. RECOMMENDED. 5/5.Maharaja’s Tipple ( Cocktail ) – Orange Clove old fashioned with thyme and saffron mist. It was OK had a strong smell of rosemary and twisted taste of herbs. 4.5/5.Dahi Bhalla Ice Cream ( Small Plates ) – Dahi Bhalla but it was cold. It was more of icecream scoop served with sour mango dal moth chaat and sheet of tamarind chutney and sweet yoghurt. I liked this. Dahi Bhalla with a modern twist. 4.5/5.Torched Paneer Rasgulla Tikka ( Small Plates ) – Paneer in shaped of rasgulla was covered in tomato-based gravy and torched with a blow torch and served avocado corn tartare. 4/5.Ambala Shahi Paneer ( Main Plates ) – Paneer Dumpling cooked and served with creamy tomato. It was not spicy little sweet. 4/5.Charcoal Dal ( Main Plates ) – They claim that they cooked the dal for 24 hours. I don’t know that but the taste was good. The spices and herbs were tickling the bud. Must-Try, RECOMMENDED. 5/5.Chocolate Ghewar ( Dessert ) – Rajasthani Sweet with a twist of chocolate and rabdi. It had a berries syrup which was little sour. 3.5/5.The texture of Milk ( Dessert ) – Mishri Mawa, Kulfi & Rabdi Brulee and Malaiyo. It had different milk dessert. 4.5/5.At the end we were served as Paan Sorbet which was the best..For Food & Drinks 8.5/10Overall Experience:- Place was perfect to have a fine dine with your date or with your special one and family..Overall Rating 4.6/5.
WHITE CHARCOAL is located at Lokhandwala which is nearby D.N. Nagar. The place is fine dining restaurant with modern Indian cuisine, having a Royal touch to it, giving delight experience. The Ambience of this place is based on white and black decors. Entire set up is so soothing calm to your eyes as you enter inside. All the tables are well presented with cutlery and wine glass adding glory to it. They have a private dining section for a group of people and diagonally opposite to it is the family section which has comfy sofas. Music playing in the background is also soothing and peaceful. The staff is very courteous with smiling faces were very impressive. As we sat down, they brought glass having aroma water and dry ice. The aroma water which they poured inside the glass all we could see the smoke arising and covering all the table which was essentially to make the atmosphere refreshing. Mind blowing concept.Mocktail:STRAWBERRY SUNSET: Strawberry based drink having nice refreshing taste having distinct colour to let the sweetness of the fruit thrive. (Totally Recommended)Cocktail:MAHARAJA TIPPLE: Orange drink with thyme and saffron mist with smell of rosemary and mixed together in rumAppetizers:DAHI BHALLA ICE CREAM: The dish was too delicious. The concept of combining Ice cream and crispy dahi bhalla together topped with chat and served with chutney was amazing. (Totally Recommended)TORCHED PANEER RASGULLA TIKKA: Stuffed with dry fruits from inside and from outside it is marinated with coating given to paneer tikka. Best Part is when the cook comes up with a blower and gives medium flame to the rasgulla from top and topped up with papad.Mains:AMBALA SHAHI PANEER: Paneer kofta with creamy tomato curry was very delicious with tomato dried Paratha.DAL CHARCOAL: Its signature dish of the outlet, the dal is slow cooked for 24hrs to give the perfect taste with some home-made butter. (Totally Recommended)Desserts:CHOCOLATE GHEWAR – Here’s another fusion traditional Rajasthan Ghewar topped with chocolate ganache placed along with orange mascarpone sauce.TEXTURE OF MILKS – It was something different. It includes mishri mawa, kulfi and rabdi. the presentation was excellent, this dessert tasted flavourful. At the end they serve you smoky Paan sorbet. Overall good experience nice concept and awesome service. It’s a classy place for your classy taste
This place is a fine dine restaurant. The ambience is very nice. The music was light and soothing. The look and feel of the restaurant is pretty sophisticated. We started off with a cocktail the Maharaja’s tipple its a smoky wishkey based drink I also had the strawberry sunset which is soda based mocktail. For starters we tried the tandoori chicken poppers which was shredded tandoori chicken ball with makhni n Parmesan fondue, it was good.Next I tried the torched paneer which is a spicy stuffed rasgulla over guacamole and they flame it when it comes to your table. For mains I tried the harissa naan which is MUSTDUM MURG I found it little bland The Hyderabadi dum biryani is 100% must have. For dessert I tried the chocolate Ghevar and textures of malai both desserts were decent.Overall the restaurant is an aesthetically appealing, the food is decent but the service is very classy. It’s not very pricey for a fine dining experience.
The term White Charcoal seems contradictory but this Oxymoron termed restaurant is one of the best fine dine restaurant I have visited recently. From the ambience to décor to staff to their service everything is minutely crafted and delivered for a lasting client experience. And most importantly the food offerings be it their chic plating or an artistic presentation a gastronomical journey is what dining at White Charcoal is all about!Visited for dinner on a Thursday night with a friend to relish a 3 course meal here.Started off with Appetizers :The Halim Baklava (4 pieces) served on a light phyllo hollow base topped with finely minced mutton with a touch of mozzarella cheese to complete the light creamy effect on these. A must order for people who appreciate quality! The Murgh Kurchan (Stuffed Kulcha) packed a bomb of flavors; 3 portions of round kulcha with minced chicken stuffed inside with the right spices added in. Served along with a dash of mint chutney these were really delicious. (Recommended)Moved on to Mains :Kashmiri Muslim Rogan Josh : A signature dish at White Charcoal and the first bite will make you realize why!!! A whole lamb shank along with 5-6 boneless pieces served in semi thick flavorful gravy, the meat came off the bone with no efforts and literally melted on our palates; this was paired with Chur Chur naan which upped the quotient of the entire dish even more. (A Must Try)Awadhi Ghost Biriyani : Flavors on point with generous pieces of succulent boneless lamb pieces added in with a touch of saffron & cardamom topped with oodles of barista made this one a flavorful biriyani. Finally some signature Desserts (The best part of my meal) :Apricot & Hazelnut Samosa : Suggested by our server and we decided to go for it, beautifully presented 3 pieces of samosa stuffed with Date mash and drizzled with coffee flavored sauce. As far as experimenting goes this would be a Pass and we loved it. Do try it out if you are bored of the regular desserts!Saffron Tres Leches : A signature in-house dessert and probably the best version of Tres Leches I have tried. The touch of saffron gave this a superior taste and again the presentation was on point; it literally looked like the crown jewel of our entire meal. (Definitely Recommended)I must say White Charcoal is a place where you to dine in to enjoy the finer things of food they have to offer!A courteous and well informed staff along with quick service and impeccable food made White Charcoal truly a unique fine dine restaurant!A must visit for any special occasion or when you want to treat your palates to something special!
A client meeting at Empressa hotel at Lokhandwala Andheri saw me walking into The White Charcoal. Perfect set up for a perfect evening. Awesome ambience, good food, good hospitality and good company- could not have asked for anything better. Located on 2nd floor at Empressa hotel the place delivers what it looks to impress. Kudos to Sunil our bearer who gave some fantastic suggestions. Started of with awesome drinks and way to start with Indian Itch and Strawberry Sunset to set mood for beautiful evening. For starters we had Lemon chicken and the awesome Nihari Kebab ( must try). For mains we had Mutton rogan josh with signature churchuri paratha, and the awesomely delicious Hyderabadi biryani ( must try). For deserts we had chocolate ghewar and the yummy Spanish Saffron Tres Lech with Indian twist. All in all good value for time, money and energy. I definitely vouch for this place.
