Jalsa is in Ghatkopar east serving pure vegetarian and jain food. The ambience is good enough, fully airconditioned and good seating. The service is prompt but not satisfied with the taste and quality of food.The bread pieces served when I ordered cheese fondue was not fresh also the pav given with pav bhaji one pav was drenched in butter and so much masala. I had to replace that with another. Would not recommend pav bhaji nor fondue. Pizza’s topping was good but no salt in it. The Oreo milkshake was average and nachos were good. Overall it was not a satisfying experience as it was expected.Would rate as follows:Ambience: 3.5/5Food: 2.5/5Staff: 3/5Price: 3/5
The Jalsa – by Nanumal Bhojraaj, was (is) a very well known restaurant, and being close to the station its situated at a very good location. I have been there thrice by now, and call it fortunate or unfortunate, I wasn’t able to take any pictures but the third and the most recent experience is well documented through photographs.Let me share a brief experience. The food here is very good. Much better than the local restaurants in the vicinity. Be it the quality of food and the taste it offers you. Also its not too expensive so you could definitely enjoy a very delicious meal over here. But now, things get down hill from here. So down hill that I was forced to give them a below average rating. The service is pathetically poor. Honestly, their service couldn’t get any worse. Every single of my three meetings here were accompanied by delicious food, but the service was so bad that the whole dining experience was ruined. The waiter doesn’t come to take your order. Then it takes way too long for it to arrive and then again you need to wait a bit too long for the breads to arrive. We had VEG PIZZA AND VEG CRISPY for starters. Even though the pizza was a way too simple preparation with a bit of cheese, onions and tomatoes, nothing more. But still it tasted really delicious and appetizing. Veg. Crispy was a bit average but not bad.Coming to mains we had PANEER AMRITSARI, and it was very yummy. Soft and succulent cottage cubes, with the tastiet of gravy. A really delicious preparation amd a recommended one for that matter.So the issue with Jalsa is that their service and if you improve that, I can see things getting better manifolds. And this issue is very persistent, and has happned with me more than once. I geniunely request the management to take action regarding this, and I would love to be a regular customer.Happy Burping!!!
