On a busy weekday went here for dinner after shopping in naupada. Place is small but neat and tidy. Service was quick. Being from konkan region, we had lot of expectations however experience was bit disappointing. The fish was fresh. Had bombil rawa fry, pomfret thali & malvani wade. Masala used for frying fish had added color which I felt completely unnecessary. Fish is delicate hence the marinade should be mild. Overpowering marination spoils it. Fish curry was bit karvar style with thick coconut paste. Malvan is famous for finley ground coconut in its preparations. So that was a minus point. Solkadhi was amazingly satisfying. Wade were tasty. So overall I found it only average.

After reading review decided to try. Trust mw Worst decision taken. My dinner was spolit. This is small place only few customers come then too take lot of time to give food. Service not at all good. Now comimg to food. We ordered surmai thali, pomferet thali. Chicken tarkarli special and bhakri. Chicken tarkarli special was ok. Coming to Thali. Worst Thali I would have ever tasted. They say malwani food. Its not even close to malwani food. We were not even able ro eat the fish.Soo tasteless. Fish was fresh but no taste at all. No proper spices nothing. The curry in the thali tasted something different can’t describe but it didn’t tasted like fish curry. Instead of coming here would have eaten vada pav nd coffee that would taste better. Anyways my dinner was spolit. Please think before going

Visited this place on a Thursday night for dinner. It is truly one of the hidden gem. Located right next to Malhar Theater, it is a must try. I would rate it a complete 5/5 in terms of quality and taste of the food, service and value for money. Gives you homely feels, serves perfect home-like food.I called for the below:1. Surmai Hot Garlic2. Pomfret Rava Fry3. Mutton Bheja Thali4. Prawn ThaliAll of the above are a must try. I absolutely loved the food and the service here. Mutton bheja thali and surmai hot garlic were something unique. I tried it for the first time and I loved it.It’s a must visit. I would definitely keep visiting. I highly recommend this place.

This place is a delight for people who enjoy Malwani or Maharashtrian coastal cuisine. This restaurant is located immediately next to Malhar theatre in Thane and bang opposite The Shelter. The menu covers good variety of meat and sea food varieties most of it in Malwani style. The ambience is pretty simple and to the point. The focus here is on the quality of food. We ordered the below dishes:Starters:Surmai Hot Garlic : Boneless pieces of surmai in Chinese hot garlic sauce semi dry gravy. The fish was fresh and the Chinese sauces complimented it well. This was a welcome change to the regular surmai Fry that I am usually used to.Pomfret Tava Fry : Happy with the size of the fish. The fish was as fresh as u can get and the taste was authentic.Mains:Prawns Thali : A fulfilling Thali with rice choice of either Chappati, Bhakri or kombdi vade,Prawns Gravy, regular rasa, sol kadi and a few pieces of rava fried tiger prawns! This was heavenly!Mutton Bheja Thali : SHOWSTOPPER! This for me was the highlight of the evening.I had initially ordered for a regular mutton thali however on recommendation by the manager I decided to opt for the bheja thali and I don’t regret it one bit. I words fall short to describe how amazing the Bheja thick Gravy was. I am still relishing that unforgettable taste as I write this review.A very special thanks for to Mr.Chaitanya for his courteousness and hospitality while attending to us and a special mention of our server Mr. Janak who was happy to serve and attend to us with a smile. This place is truly a hidden gem in the heart of thane city. I would recommend this to one and all especially the ones who enjoy Malwani cuisine.Great going team keep up the excellent work.. I wish you great success!!!

If you’re a sea food love & interested in trying out some authentic Malvani fish/meat, you got to try out Tarkari restaurant.Unlike most restaurants, this one is sober and peaceful. Tarkarli has a seating capacity of 10-12 people. You get a wide range of foods- veg, chicken, mutton & fish.. all in the Malvani style! We ordered:Babycorn Chilly- Sliced babycorn cooked in a soya based sauce, with green chillies & garlic. The babycorn was slightly over cooked & hence lost it’s taste but nonetheless the overall dish was good!Pomfret Tawa Fry- Locally known as ‘Paplet’, this fish was fresh as ever and well cooked in the traditional red masala. The flesh was tender & literally melted in the mouth! Never had fish so good! This is a must try!Mutton Malvani Thali- The thali consists of a portion of rice, 2 rotis, a portion of mutton, a bowl of mutton gravy, salad & a portion of solkadi. This thali was simple but the taste was authentic & soul satisfying. The bowl of mutton ‘rassa’ adds another level of enjoymemt with rice/roti. This nice, spicy gravy totally made my meal a great one. If I didn’t fill myself with the starters, I would have definitely gone in for a second round of serving!Chicken Mini Thali- Similar to the Mutton Thali, only that you gotta choose between rice & roti, you don’t get Solkadi in it (heartbreaking!), but this as well was an awesome thali. The sweet taste of coconut milk is felt in each bite! This place is reasonable, humble & hygienic. Staff are courteous & the food is lovely! Will definitely visit again.Overall rating:Ambience- 3/5Menu- 4/5Service- 5/5Hygiene- 5/5Quality of food- 5/5Taste- 5/5Value for money- 5/5
