An amazing place to go for a misal breakfast (5.0/5.0). I was a bit skeptical at first, since I had no idea about this place. But once I had their amazing misal sample I was astonished. It was the perfect balance of spiciness. The tarri (oily layer on top) was to die for! Absolutely stunning misal. Furthermore, the relatively low prices mean that it’s light on your pocket. I highly recommend visiting this place at least once.Peace /
A nice place for Maharashtrian breakfast. We have been here many times and they have served us a nice breakfast. What I especially like is their masala ghaavan; it is cooked to perfection.Apart from that, we have the pohe and misal; which are a standard fare. The misal is not very spicy, suited more for the elderly people. Once done, wash it down with their nicely done tea and toast butter to go with. Go here for a quick breakfast, service is good and fast. I will post more pictures when I go there next time.A word of caution – the place is not cheap. Breakfast for two people comes to ~400.My advice to them – please make sure the mustard in your sambhar and the misal sample is cooked completely, many a times it’s partially cooked which gives a bitter taste in your mouth when you chew it. No complaints apart from this.

Authentic native पुणेरी cuisine. Have tried उपवास वडा sambar, उपवास potato toast, regular घावण-भाजी, थालीपीठ. Everything is perfect. Their पियुष is very good too. Visit gives a very unique to pune hospitality feel. Recommended.

Last sunday we went to tilak natya mandir to watch one of the best marathi nataks. Coincidentally that day was sankashti chaturthi and we realised that just besides the tilak natya mandir, there is a food joint famous for all upawasache food items. So we left early from home and went to new refreshment house. It was actually expected that the place would be crowded and we waited for some 20 minutes. We went inside and found that it was a small place where tables are arranged in a compact manner. We got a table where already a boy was there. When we had gone through their upwasacha menu, we got so confused. Then that boy suggested us to asked for upwasachi misal, shahi kabab and upwasache ghavana. As my husband had cravings for sweets, we ordered ratalyache kap, upwasachi misal, shahi kabab along with kairi panha and masala tak. Both the drinks helped us to beat the heat. Ratalyache kap was tasty, my husband liked it. As a misal lover, I was so excited to have upwasachi misal and trust me it was deliciously awesome. Shahi kakab was also tasty. We were almost full still wanted to try their upwasache ghavana so decided to have it post our natak. And we actually did that. Upwasache ghavana was must try item! Really a recommended one. Though it was a worth for money place, one important thing to mention is if you really have a patience to bear with the painful service then only visit this place. They must improve their service.
One of the oldest and the truest taste of Pune, we’re lucky to visit during navratri, so we had all the fasting dishesUpwas misal – mildly spicy, had gravy made of groundnut and was having khichadi, potato chivda and lime for tangy tastePatato patties – was patato from outside but had the filling of some mashed veggies which are allowed for fasting and was served with curdOverall good experience if you’re little tolerant towards the service
