HOW I MANGALORE is a perfect outlet for all your manglorean style food cravings.. Manglorean cuisine is largely influenced by the South Indian cuisine. Recently ordered from this outlet in office for lunch.1. Chicken Sukka- A semi dry dish made using fresh chicken, masalas, grated fresh coconut and it is generously tempered using ghee as well as onions. The taste of the special Mangalore-style spice and the properly cooked soft chicken were well combined. Very tasty and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.2. Neer Dosa- A delicacy from Tulu region. Neer dosa are thin, fluffy and lacy crepes made from ground rice batter. The batter is watery and not thick like the usual dosa batter. Was very soft and tasty so went well with the chicken sukka.Overall:-Order placing was hassle free and delivery was on time with good packaging. Will definitely try out the other items from menu now.
Let me start by describing this place in 1-2 lines and that is * Pathetic management and service but actually good food*.The staff was not at all professional and was arrogant and careless. The food was brought to the table without even bringing any plates or bowls or anything and then they took 5 more minutes just to get the plates and by that time the food was cold. The whole staff was in kitchen and the only person from amongst the staff at the counter was not paying any attention.I am giving this place 4 stars only and only because I believe mistakes happen and everyone has a bad day but the food was really good honestly otherwise it would have been a 0/5. This place is small restaurant on Baner-Pashan Link road. Finding parking for the place especially 4 wheeler is a little difficult. The ambience is simple and cozy.Coming to the food : I personally tried :1) Prawns Ghee Roast : I liked the ghee roast masala in this dish but it was not as spicy as it should have been because they just over used the amount of ghee while cooking it I guess because the flavor of ghee was overpowering and also these were the tiniest prawns ever in size. I expected generous sized ones.2) Chicken Sukha : 2nd favorite dish of mine was this dish. This dish was basically Chicken cooked with coconut and chillis and I loved this dish. It was well seasoned and the chicken was cooked perfectly plus the balance of flavors between coconut and chillis was great! It reminded me of Chicken Xacuti dish but this one was way much less spicy.3) Pepper Chicken : My most favorite dish here was this one. It was spicy , oily and and you can feel that heat of pepper which I loved about this dish. Pair it with a Neer Dosa and it’s best combination ever. The chicken pieces were generous and succulent ❤️❤️4) Chicken Korri Gassi : This is a Red Chicken Curry and it’s spicy with flavors of coconut and tamarind. Now I am not a fan of combination of coconut and tangy flavors but I honestly loved this curry. The consistency of the curry was perfect and I could honestly just drink it like a nice bowl of soup. The chicken was cooked perfectly and it was succulent. Loved it. Pair it with Appams.5) Chicken Biryani : This was not a Chicken Biryani in flavors but a Chicken Pulao! The taste was not the real issue though. The real issue was that the rice granules were way too dry and hard like bullets which just ruined the texture of Chicken Pulao. Chicken pieces were well seasoned and cooked perfectly though.Overall it’s a decent place to visit for some nice South Indian dishes but the staff , service and management really needs to be improved here.
