Wada – The desi Maharashtrian Mansion serving some authentic maharastrian food. Managed by the Jamale brothers, this place is a must visit for their gigantic thali’s. Martahwada inspired recipes and spices fill their menu with rural colors.Located on the Mumbai Bangalore Highway, The entire place is aptly designed with the concept of a real time dhaba in mind. Spread in around 1 acre of land the restaurant displays a big garden in front with a play area for kids thats also Perfect for Birthday parties and big family functions with a seating capacity of 70 – 80 people approx and ample of parking space. The inside seating is also spacious enough with approx 100- 120 chairs including a separate family section. The entire atmosphere is rustic dhaba style with orange curtains, a tulsi plant , images of maratha warriors and big sized brass vessels etc.Wada has a spl culture of turban tieying and gifting saplings on birthdays, the staff of Wada ties turbans for the guests and the special one gets a small sapling as gift, grow it and show them and win a free dinner.Isn’t it a sweet and nobel gesture !!The Food Mocktails – I was welcomed with a round of refreshing Mocktails like – Citrus blue and Mint Melon. I wasn’t expecting such good mock-tails here but they exceeded my expectations for sure.Mutton Kharda – The most spiciest version of kharda items ive ever had, I am sure there are people who would love this kind of preparation but I cannot have this spicy food so had only one serving of the mutton kharda.Aalni Soup -Cold windy night compelled me to ask for this soup and it turned out to be a clear winner, very basic with the flavor of bone broth. Loved this and gulped it down peacefully direct from the vaati.Chicken Tangadi Kebab – They have a separate chef for their north Indian food and this dish proved that they excel in north Indian food too. The dish was presented beautifully with a small burning candle in between the hefty tandoored leg pieces. The chicken was Juicy and full of flavor, loved gobbling this. #StronglyRecommendedChicken Sukka – A soul satisfying dish with chicken cooked in home made kala masala. The spicy are rich and leave you with an amazing aftertaste. I loved the fact that the chicken was tender and fresh. #MustTryWada Spl Thali – A Thali fit for the great Khali or someone gifted with the same appetite. It Includes -Chicken Fry – 5 big piecesChicken Kaala Rasa – 2 – 3 pieces of chickenAalni – 1 big piece chickenKaleji FryEgg boilThecha/Chutney Indrayani RiceBhakari The entire thali is extremely satisfying and each preparation in thier home made masala is outstanding. Spl mention to the Kaleji fry. I completely enjoyed my meal with relish. I would definitely visit the wada again to have the famous Puran Poli thali. P.S – Couldn’t get many pics of the ambiance as it was buzzing with people and I did not want to disturb their privacy

#foodtastingI will not be able to forget this evening. The air humid, the sky dark with looming clouds.Destination was an hour away, so I engaged in an interesting chat with the Uber driver. I hadn’t notice when it had started drizzling. On reaching, I had to run indoors to avoid getting wet! Read untill last why I won’t forget this evening.WADA- the Gavkar Tadka, a family restaurant, located on Pune Banglore highway. As you enter, the door opens to a square. To the left is a play area with swings/slides to the right is a garden patch. Further ahead to the main – a huge seating area with basic table/chairs. I observed 8/10 tables were already occupied at 7:30pm with customers. The Jamale Brother’s WADA, specialises in Marathwada style in cooking. Food cooked in the rich classic Kala masala from mid west region. Kala masala is a darkly roasted aromatic blend of 23++ spices. The ingredients increase, modify the recipe based on every family’s version that gets passed down over the generations.Plenty of Veg and non veg items on menu. Let me share what I had.#Tangdi_Kebab : juicy, spicy, hot tandoori preps cooked to perfection. Super Perfect !#Mutton_Sukka : Spicy and boneless mutton in signature Kala masala. Wow! Lip smacking!#Gavran_Chicken_Kharda : again spicy Kharda mixture. Very delicious!#Chilap_fishfry : Bland fish, bland, dry coating. Not to my liking.#Veg_Crispy : Deep-fried, hard, flitters or pakodas. Not met my expectations.#Paneer_Tikka : Succulent, tender marinade. Excellent! Go for it!#Prawn_Banjara : charred, however not rubbery. Can enhance taste for betterment.Mains: A thali can be shared. Most are Kala masala preps! At 9:30pm, all tables was occupied. The rains lashing out in a non-stop down pour, thunder and lightning for 2hrs. With backup power mode, it was difficult to take good pictures. They offered portable lights.#Masawadi_thali : One of the best massawadi. Crisp, delish and over in a jiffy! Gulab jam were yummy. Thali has dal, massawadi , Tak, rassa, raita, bhakri/roti,rice and gulab jam. Satisfy meal #mustmusthave#Wada_Special_Mutton thali : Huge thali with kaleji fry, vajadi fry, mutton sukkha, mutton Rassa, alni egg, bhakri n rice. Ufff! If you are a hard core Mutton lover with big appetite ..go for it!!#Special_Gavran_Chicken_thali: Chicken fry, Kaleji fry, Kheema ball, alni soup, rassa, boiled egg, rice, chappati/bhakri and solkadi. Delicious chicken fry, rich alni soup, Kheema ball tasty, cold solkadhi.#Puran_poli : This was exceptionally good. One must try it here.#Kharvas : Not made in-house. More of a China grass. Not recommended.Different kinds of mocktails : Refreshments while you wait for starters. Met expectations. The rains that night refused to exit. The Session was over by 10:30 pm. I booked thru app for a cab. Twice it was cancelled. Finally I booked one to my parent’s house which was closer. I got a cab ready to travel immediately. I reached safely around 12:30 amHowever that night, a bridge over a canal close to my home, collapsed around 11:30/12 midnight. Eight people died. While crossing this bridge, they were either washed away or stuck in a drowning vehicle! May their souls rest in peace.Have a look at the pictures.

#tastinginviteWada by Hotel Gavran Tadka is extremely popular for their super human sized Wada Thalis. I’ve been hearing a few rounds of applause for this place, and was glad to have gotten an opportunity to try the food.We reached by 8 pm at this hotel, situated opposite Rangla Punjab along the Bangalore Highway. By 8.30 pm, the place was beaming with families and groups of people wanting to try their Thalis. By 9 pm, the place was full! The ambience is very very basic. The main focus, food, is a clear winner though. Here’s what I was served:Colourful drinks: the usual works.Tangdi Kebabs: Lived the soft succulent kebabs. These were wiped off in no time. The start of our meal was indeed a pleasure! #HighlyRecommendedPaneer Tikka Kebabs: I liked the veg variant too. The vegetarian food overall is great here, so do grab your vegetarian eaters to this place!#RecommendedForVeggiesPrawns Banjara Kebabs: These were surprisingly tasty. I liked a bit of char on the meat, so I enjoyed having this. However, I felt that the prawns were too small in size. A medium sized prawn should be a better optionGaavraan Chicken Kharda: This was a delish! Not overtly spicy, the chicken was succulent and the marinated had well reached the bones! The garlic-ginger-coriander-chilly worked wonders! #HighlyRecommendedMutton Sukka: a bit on the spicy side, but flavourful. #RecommendedForMuttonLoversWada Mutton Thali: the Thali could easily satisfy 3 to 4 regular appetite people.Large portion of Mutton Sukka, Vajadi Fry, Kaleji, and Kala Mutton Rassa dominated the Thali. Served with choices of Bhakri or Chapati, the preps were all well made. #RecommendedWada Chicken Thali: The chicken variant of the Thali is a bit on the milder side. Chicken Fry, Kheema balls, Chicken Alni soup, chicken rassa, etc was included in the Thali. #RecommendedOur vegetarian friend opted for a Veg Thali, and I picked up the Maaswadi from it.The Maaswadi was being excellence. It was slightly crisp textured on the outside, and melt in the mouth. Just have this wadi as a starter and I can bet you can’t stop at one! #TooGoodMaaswadiIf you’re ever lost on the highway and want to eat some Desi local food, head to Wada by Gavraan Tadka.

Rural Maharashtrian cusine has a soft spot in my heart hence when #foodtasting invitation was arranged by management of Wada i heartily accepted it.The ambience of the restaurant is very Spacious elegantly decorated theamed as wada having comfortable seatingSpacious lawn area for small functions an kids area with toy’s so you can enjoy your time and kid’s will enjoy their’s.Coming to food the restaurant specializes in Usmanabadi (Marathwada style food)This cusine has use of kala (काळा) masala an unique blend of various spices, dry coconut and chillies. We Started off with kharda chicken its chicken made in green chillies and coconut base had nice pungency of chillies. But the leg piece was slightly undercooked which was conveyed to management. The thecha was slightly coarser then what I had earlier in different locations.Mutton sukka was simply awesomeCooked to perfection bokad meat in traditional kala masala its an must have here.Along with the traditional array of food restaurant also serves excellent kebabs the tangdi kebab we had was deep Tandoored juicy piece of chicken i had in long time. For Mains we ordered Special Mutton Thali.. oh God it was HUGEConsisted almost every part of perfectly cooked meat.It weighed almost 1.5 kg.Had vajadi, kaleji, sukka, rassa and piping hot bhakri. This huge thali can be shared with 2 ~3 ppl easily and restaurant happily allows you to do so.Each meat preparation in thali had its own unique blend of spices.Rassa was smoky rustic same taste i had once in Marathwada. They also serve excellent maaswadi, puranpoli thali and Punjabi dishes for vegetarians in the group which is an boon as many times veggie freinds feel left out in such restaurants.Overall an good option for delicious gavran nonveg food. All pics are unedited काढले तसे सोडले.

I was invited here for tasting. I really loved their wada theme. Gavran tadka has been a well known entity in the field so they opened up this with one keeping their brand name thus – wada by gavran tadkaI love their chicken thali, it is too much for person to finish. Their chicken is tender and yet full of flavor.Mutton I tried here for the first time so can’t say much but I liked it. Chicken tangdi kabab, chicken alani soup, Mutton raan and sukka these dishes I tried out of which first 3 are my favorite among themWhen I went there it started raining cats and dogs still soon enough almost whole restaurant was full and believe me it has ample space, so theres obviously good food here right?Their puran poli is just sooo amazing that I can not describe in words you have to try it yourself with a spoonful of ghee.I also loved their citrus blue and mint lemon mocktail.Food 5/5Ambience 5/5Ffm 5/5Love the place

My favourite was mutton thali and puranpoli thali .In the desserts we had gulab jamun with icecram which was good again .I loved solkadhi here . Situated at a prime location right near the highway, I would recommend travellers to swerve on the service road and partake of some of the delicacies on the menu that are rarely found in any common restaurant. This place gives you homely vibes with its rustic charm, delicious food and a pleasant ambience. Try the Mutton raan, Chicken kharda, Mutton kala rassa, a couple of chuli varchi bhakri and some solkadhi here. It also serves a variety of thalis, out of which I found the puranpoli thali the best (pardon my sweet tooth). I expected to see a few more desserts on the menu, however the main course is so filling that the desserts are not needed. Some dishes might be a little expensive because of the time and effort that goes into making them (like the mutton raan). Rest assured, the other dishes have been priced according to the quantity and wide variety.
