A visit to Cafe Diamond Queen was always on the cards, but wasn’t getting a good opportunity for the same. Finally decided to pay the hotel a visit on 14-Apr-2019 for family lunch. The staff was very cooperative and was on their toes for helping with our order (especially because we had 4 children with us along with 4 other family members). We ordered – Chicken Lollipop – One of the best lollipops in the entire town. The chicken was tender, the outer covering was not too spicy as well as very crisp. This was extremely tasty and 2 dishes were gone in no time. Highly recommended. 5 / 5Chicken Tandoori – This was also very good. Their spice is a bit different as compared to other spices, but was tasty. Also, it was served piping hot, which added to the experience. 4 / 5Butter Chicken – This came to us as a shock. It seemed this dish wasn’t containing any butter, as well as no gravy. Whatever smallest amount that was served as gravy was very close to adding some boiling water in Tandoori masala and mixed with chicken pieces. This dish was ordered specially for children, but wasn’t good enough for them. This was really a horrible experience as we couldn’t even finish a spoonful that was served and I had to pack the remaining to be taken home, add some tomato puree, butter and re-cook. 1 / 5 Chapati – Had order chapati (to avoid maida roti / naan), but unfortunately the chapatis served too were prepared from maida. These were cold in no time, and turned rubbery immediately, due to which we couldn’t finish it. 2 / 5Mutton Biryani – The biryani was pretty good, mutton pieces were tender and well cooked. It was great in taste (however, use of oil could be lesser). This was a good experice after comparing the butter chicken & chapati. 4 / 5Bun-omelette – This was good in taste. Served hot. Bun was okay (not as fresh as you would expect in an Irani Hotel – compared with Hotel Yezdan). 3 / 5Cheese Omelette – Again – The omelette was good, but was different as compared to what is served in typical Irani Hotel – The cheese chunks are cooked along with omelette, whereas here cheese was grated over regular omelette. Didn’t match the expectations – 3 / 5Overall, it was a varied experience (some very good dishes, and some very difficult experiences). Would like to visit again for another experience. Ambience – 3 / 5Food – 3 / 5Service – 4 / 5Overall – 3 / 5

Bustling on a sunday morning with every age group represented..the post run breakfast, the retired armymen, the guy pal groups from twenties to fifties, families as well..the service is promptthe delicacies are on display are enticing. The kheema pav, yes i would like to call it ‘the’ kheema pav, is unique in being simple and sumptuous.Decent quantity for one heavy eater or two light onesmasala omelette also didnt disappoint.crispy at the edges, soft otherwise.my friend refused to share as she found it soul touching.the show stopper definately was bun maska with tea.me and my friend were to share one before we started eating, but had to order another one as ‘yeh dil maange more’although not a very big fan of ‘chai’ this one i will go back for, when in pune
