Delicious asian food with modern chinese ambience. Very well priced & quick service too. For appetizers we called for Kung pao chicken, chicken spring roll, crispy prawns cheung fun ( which I managed to gobble without taking a picture, looked delicious & tasted yum ) and some coriander chicken soup.Main course – we called for some prawn tempura sushi, chicken Hakka noodles & mixed fried rice with some pork gravy. Dessert – Rice pudding, Enjoyed our time here.

A much awaited visited to the House of Mandarin to get a pinch of some Chinese food. It was a fulfilling experience and here’s what all we had.Smoky Salt n Pepper ChickenThis dish combines chicken with the simple flavors of salt, black, and garlic powder with the essence of smoke.Wok Tossed Chicken DriedDried chicken wok tossed is extra crunchy and more like a sophisticated version of kung pao. It’s smokier, spicier and tasty at every bite.Salt and Pepper PrawnsPrawns abbreviated for salt, pepper, and garlic, very tasty and crispy.Shrimp Tempura Maki Roll (Recommended)Delicious and tasty Sushi Rice Trolled with Tempura Shrimp. Its loaded with crispy fried shrimp tempura and tons of delicious fillings.Dumplings – Pan Fried Chicken GyozaJuicy on the inside, crispy and golden brown on the outside, these Japanese pan-fried dumplings, Gyoza which consist of delicious chicken fillings with some tender soft cover wrapped around it.Chicken Firecracker Rice (with Sliced Chicken Soya Chilli)The sweet and spicy sticky firecracker chicken rice is a delicious combination with some sliced chicken soya chilli. Also, the quantity served is quite good.Seven Texture Hazelnut (Recommended)Hot chocolate poured upon seven textured chocolate mousse which is absolutely tempting and fulfills your cravings. The taste is heavenly and you’ll surely not regret.Alongside all the food items we also had Raspberry Fizzand Very Berry Khatta as refreshments.House of Mandarin is a spectacular restaurant where you can immerse yourself in some authentic Chinese cuisine. They boast of a wide variety of starters and have a wonderful ambience. The staff was quite courteous and helpful with the menu. Look forward to visiting again.

Situated in the newest foodgasm place in Powai with some great bars and cafes for company, HOM is right there with the best of Chinese food. A sufficiently enough selection of food and drink, so as not to confuse you. Comfortable seating with options of chairs and sofas. Nuanced decor and lighting. And of course great food. The orders appeared in a jiffy and while the portions could be a wee bit bigger, they hit the right spot on taste abc flavour. Only downside was the music which was fairly loud and could be toned down a bit to suit both ends of the listeners spectrum. Good value for money.

86th Restaurant to be rated a complete 5on5 by me.House Of Mandarin is Located in Delphi Building, Hiranandani Powai and it is easy to locate. Their other outlet is at Hill Road Bandra.House of Mandarin is homage to the gloriousancestry of Chinese food in India. Mandarin is a language and culture however it also represents cuisine that originates from the royal courts of China comprising of mild spices, colourful vegetables, delicate meats and rice, to create a medley of colors, textures, aromas and flavours. The restaurant is spacious with amazing lightings done. The ambiance is made using a mix of modern and vintage elements and it looks beautiful. The huge green bells hanging, the creative collage made from plates on the walls, the bright coloured seatings looks neat and perfect. They also have a small sperate section for a group of 10 people and it looks like a cute dining room. The seatings are arranged systematically in an uncluttered manner and options are great for all size of groups. They also have a small Sushi platform where you can see the process and a bar is also available. They specialise in Chinese cuisine and they serve Sushi as well. I loved the compact selection of dishes as the menu doesn’t feel crowded and you don’t get confused. Options are nicely balanced for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Prices are at par with similar type of brands and the quantity served is satisfactory.I went here for dinner and the hospitality here was top class. Right from the time you enter till the time you are done with the meal the staff takes utmost care of you and I noticed they take feedback from each table which is an amazing thing to do. The kitchen service was on time and the table service was perfect. Special thanks to Manager Sandeep, Staff Alok & Bartender Biswajit who made our meal experience great. What We Had -APPETIZERS~Wok Tossed Chicken with Dried Red Chillies -Juicy chicken pieces tossed in thick garlic based gravy along with dried red chillies and onions tasted delicious. I loved the subtle flavours as it was not spicy and the chicken was amazingly tender.Chicken & Prawn Shu Mai Dumpling -Looked and tasted decent. Little work on the presentation needed and it was little dry as well but the mix of fresh prawns and chicken tasted good together. Eat this with chilli oil you will love it.Shrimp Tempura Maki Roll -Bang on perfect. Looked stunning and tasted amazing. The tempura had nice crunch, the veggies were perfect and spicy sauce used adds nice kick. They serve wasabi sauce too which is a must eat with the sushi.MAINS~Stir Fried Chinese Greens with Shiitake Mushroom -Mushrooms with broccoli and bok choy stir fried with garlic and light soy sauce tased great. I loved the earthiness in the mushrooms plus it goes nicely with the non veg rice however the bok choy piece should be cut properly as they were too big.Chicken Firecracker Rice -One of the best version of rice I have had in recent times. This was a simple fried rice with chicken and egg but was tossed in chilli oil and it tasted marvellous. Not too spicy but the smoky flavours was amazing.DESSERTS~Seven Textures of Hazelnut & Chocolate -Chocolate cake, chocolate layer, hazelnut mousse and chocolate dish which is then topped with chocolate sauce. Looked great and tasted too good. It was not too sweet had nice flavours of hazalenut, the chocolate sauce was rich and overall a perfect end to a perfect meal.MOCKTAILS~Very Berry Khatta -Orange & pomegranate juice, kala khatta syrup. Taste wise perfect.Sakura Sakura -Grape juice & peach syrup. Taste wise great.Passion Cooler -Passion fruit puree, mint, honey & soda. Taste wise refreshing and good.Raspberry Fizz -Frozen raspberry puree, lime juice & soda. Taste wise too strong and sour. This needs major improvement. So the meal at House of Mandarin was amazing as I loved the food and the excellent service was great throughout. Therefore a meal here is definitely recommended.
