Origami is a Japanese & Korean restaurant located in Powai. People specifically looking out for authentic Japanese & Korean cuisine would enjoy this place.Indian palate takes time to get use of authentic Asian cuisine as at times it js bland for them. Origami was a winner as the flavors infused in their dishes took our heart away.To be honest we really didn’t enjoy their beverages, but we devoured the mains and the appetizers, followed by sumptuous dessert.Started of with the rock tempura roll and salmon maki roll. Dipped in chilly oil, these were outstanding.Chi taki soba noodles were soupy, cooked nicely, amazing flavors and went well along the non veg Japanese curry.Origami is well known for it’s green tea Ice-cream which is recommended here. But instead we opted for the Matcha Cheesecake which was delicious.Overall an amazing experience whilst trying out some Japanese & Korean cuisine.

I’ve been a big fan of Korean and Japanese culture for a long time now, and I always wanted to try out their delicacies. There are very few restraunts in Mumbai that serve good Korean food, and I recently came across this place in powai and I knew I had to have a visit here!Origami Japanese & Korean restaurant is an authentic asian restaurant serving pure Korean & Japanese delicacies right in the heart of Mumbai. The place is located at Hiranandani gardens, powai and is at the ground floor of supreme business park, B wing.As you enter there is an outdoor seating area first and again there is a door which leads to the indoor seating area. The indoor is beautifully decored, giving it the traditional asain vibe, the outdoor too is well arranged, great to dine on a good cold evening. We occupied the indoor seating as it was a little too cold that day. As we entered we were warmly welcomed by the staff and thanks to Mr. Krishna, our host for the evening took great care of the service the entire time and Miss Fatima for waiting our table well. Let’s talk about the food now, so I tried-• LEMON GRASS COOLER- This was the most perfect and refreshing drink, that went really well with the food, I highly recommend you to try this!• NON VEG CALIFORNIA ROLL- The presentation will blow your mind. I’d give a whole extra point just for this dish. It was lovely.• CHICKEN KKANPUNGGI- This is by far one of the most tastiest fried chicken starters I’ve tried. Loved, loved loved the sauce and the presentation was extremely beautiful!• GYOZA CHICKEN (PAN FRIED)- Japanese based chicken dumplings pan fried and served with spicy sauce. It’s really savoury and yum.• NON VEG JJAJANGMYUN- If you watch too much k-dramas like me, this dish has to be on your list to try, am I right? It’s good and amazing in quantity, can easily fill up to two people.• MOCHI ICE CREAM- This is a Japanese rice cake dessert. It looks extremely cute and is really soft as you take a bite. Do try this if you’re here! The quantities of the food were really fair as they were priced, which is what I liked the most here.Apart from all this, I’d like to add, the staff here is really considerate of their customers, for example, when we entered that time there were mostly teens and adult groups so they played k-pop or J-pop but when then there was a family with kids they played baby shark and all for them, which was really cute!Overall I’d say, I had a great experience dining here. Thank you so much team.Cheers!

A newly opened fine dining Pan Asian place serving tip notch Korean and Japanese food is the talk of the town for sure. Be it a date night with a view or fancy meal, this is the one you must visit.Visited on a weekday afternoon, it was buzzing with people. They have an outer open section and inner AC section. Seating is comfortable and ambience classy! The serve some delicious kimchi and some cold salad on every table. To quench our thirsts, we ordered-*Lemongrass cooler- their in-house specialty, absolutely refreshing drink with proper amount of lemongrass.*Peach Ice tea- can anyone even go wrong with this one??From the food part we opted for:*Miso soup- flavourful Japanese broth with tofu and some greens. This is definitely an acquired taste. I personally love miso so yes, this was just too good. Perfect for winters! *California roll- crab, avocado and drizzles of spicy mayo. Delishhhhhhhhh*Crunchy salmon roll- dalmon, cucumber, topped with crunchy bits and lots of tangy mayo. Yummmmm.. *Chicken Korean style- batter fried chicken pieces tossed in sweet and sour sauce served with a side of slaw. The chicken pieces could have been a lil small, but the sauce was lipsmacking!!*Dolsot bibimbap- always wanted to try this traditional korean dish. Rice, chicken, greens, veggies and egg served with sesame oil and gochujang sauce (spicy Korean chilly sauce) which is then tossed together! Loved this dish. A wholesome meal itself..*Balinese curry- stealer of of lunch. Bomb of flavours, perfectly spiced. Just cannot stop praising this one. This is way better than any Thai curry. Finally for desserts we had:*Matcha cheesecake- soft and dense, amazing consistency, mildly flavoured with matcha and drizzled with chocolate sauce.. too good…..One of my best dining experiences. The service was class apart, so was the food. We were suggested some great dishes by Mr. Krishana, the manager there.A hidden gem, tops my list now whenever I’d crave pan asian food..Most highly recommended..

95th Restaurant to he rated a complete 5on5 by me.Origami is located in Supreme Business Park Hiranandani Powai and it is easy to locate. The restaurant offers multiple seating options and the outdoor seating area is definitely the best among all. They have ground plus upper floor seatings available and the ambiance is made in a proper Japanese way with a lot of elements like Kimono and frames are kept on the walls. The lightings done are great and the outdoor section have amazing lanterns kept. Seatings are arranged nicely and options are great for all size of groups. They specialise in authentic Japanese & Korean cuisine hence their menu is divided into 2 parts focusing on both of them. The dishes here are some of those which you don’t get everywhere and they have done ana amazing job by explaining each dish perfectly. Prices are at par with similar kind of brands and the quantity served is good.I went here for dinner and the kitchen service was on time plus table service given by Staff Ujjala was good as he was proactive also thanks to Ass Manager Krishna who made sure the dinner service was smoothWhat We Had -APPETIZERS~Veg Sundubu Jjigae Soup -A veg soup from Korea. This was spicy broth along with veggies, micro greens and tofu. Loved the light flavours with spice kick.Kkanpunggi (Chicken) -Korean dish. This had juicy chicken done in sticky spicy and sweet sauce and this tatsed delicious. I loved the sauce as it had amazing flavours and sesame adds extra crunch plus the juiciness of the chicken was perfect.Prawns Tempura -My favourite Japanese sushi done in an excellent manner. Fresh prawn, cream cheese, veggies rolled perfect with tempura crunch and topped with sweet and spicy sauce drizzle. I loved everything about this as it tasted delicious.MAINS~Chicken Dolsot Bibimpap -A famous Korean meal bowl. This have chicken, rice, veggies, half done egg all mixed together in front of you using Gochujang chilli paste and sesame oil. This tasted marvellous and people fine with sesame oil should definitely eat this as the flavours were light and the chilli paste gives nice smoky touch to the dish. They serve miso soup too with this which was decent as I am not a fan of saltiness.DESSERTS~Mochi Ice Cream -Mango ice cream with the outer layer of stretchy skin made from rice served with sweet red beans. This tasted good and it was not too sweet plus the rice skin goes really well the ice cream and the beans tasted nice as well.MOCKTAILS~Lemongrass Cooler.Strawberry Mojito. Both the drinks were made perfectly and tasted great. So the meal at Origami was perfect in every manner as the food here is authentic and tasty as well. Apart from that the service and ambiance is also amazing. Therefore a visit here is highly recommended.

Origami Korean and Japanese food is an acquired taste. Having a friend who loves Korean can be both a boon. A boon since you get to try different kinds of food and open yourself to various sorts of culture. My friend loves Korean culture, k pop and Korean food and thanks to her had a quick lesson in Korean here. Origami is a place that is fine dining Korean and was on her bucket list for the longest time ever and so glad that we got to tick it off. Here’s what we tried: 1. Lemon Grass cooler – opened the account with something safe. The lemongrass cooler had a slight hint of lemongrass and was refreshing. 2. Non veg California Roll – this one was quite better than most other sushi that I’ve had. It was infact quite pleasant and I’m not a lover of sushi. 3. Fried Chicken – I was really excited to try Korean Fried Chicken coz I’d heard so much about it. It was actually quite like the normal, usual batter fried chicken with a dipping sauce. 4. Prawns kkanpunggi – this dish made my day. The sauce was the most delicious that I have ever laid my hands on. It was a sweet, sour, spicy and thick sauce with some fresh prawns. Could come back just for this. 5. Chicken Dolsot Bibimbap – this was the first time I was actually trying this and was quite excited. It’s a mix of a lot of seaweed, meat and rice with a Korean chili paste and some egg. It’s honestly an acquired taste. 6. Mochi Ice cream – my first tryst with mochi ice cream as well and I quite enjoyed the chewy confection surrounding the ice cream. Had a great experience. Service was pretty decent and the manager was really sweet. Would definitely recommend for a glimpse of Korean food. instagram.com

I’m a huge fan of Sushi , hence thought of visiting this Japanese restaurant .First things first , I feel this restaurant is totally overpriced .Coming to the food , nothing great or out of the world .The salmon sushi roll was ok , rest everything was not as per my taste .We ordered crunchy salmon roll , gyoza chicken , chicken ramen , dolsot bibimbap chicken .The service is very slow and the ambience is average .Definitely not worth it .
