Home made Maharashtrian Thali a Budget price , Fresh food .Quantity is Ok and average taste .Suitable for daily lunch or dinner . Nearby other options are available but those are little high in price than satvik .Serves Masala Pan post lunch /dinner
Had gone there during Ganpati festival one Sunday. Had heard a lot about this place serving authentic Maharashtrian thali. The place is small and one has to wait outside (no arrangements to sit!) if there is no table vacant. The food was decent (limited thali at Rs. 75), but the service horrible!!! There is an arrangement to sit upstairs, but avoid sitting there as the attendants (one or two!?) seldom come over to check if u need something; they’ll put the thali on the table the first time and bid you goodbye thereafter.. I had to call for extra pickle and ‘koshimbir’ by going downstairs in the middle of my meal!!! For rice eaters the amount is scant, so beware. They usually serve three chapatis, two veggies, one dry sabzi, dal, a small plate of rice and taak and no papad!!! There are better eateries in the vicinity serving Maharashtrian thali – price wise, quality wise and service wise, so for me it doesn’t make any sense to go to Satvik again!
Quite good homely Maharashtrian Thali place. If you are looking for a comfy place to sit with guests and expect lot of hospitality, waiters in pressed suites etc, don’t go for this one though. This is no frills, regular lunch go-er’s place where you just be attentive to your food and which for sure won’t put a hole in your pocket in turn. This is a regular Thali place and pure veg. Since its homely Marathi food, its not too heavy on oil and spice. They have onion, chutney, pickle etc on every table and you can expect fresh veggies served with hot chapatis, followed by steamed rice and varan/amti. You get a glass of butter milk and sweet with your meal.If you have been to Durvankur or Shreyas, you will find this is even more affordable and simple version of Maharashtrian food where they don’t load you with too many items but you eat a good and simple meal at affordable price before you walk out (which doesn’t take much time really, maybe 30 mins max). Takes you closer to homely Marathi food than one of those bigger places. Its surely recommended.
