Had heard / read a lot about this place, so was making plans for the visit. Finally, got a chance to make it on Saturday 14-Sep-2019.Had a slightly bitter sweet experience, so am confused and unable to make a judgemental call on this restaurant. We ordered -Tomato Soup – Good in thickness, however was lacking appropriate quantity of salt. Considering individual’s taste bud choice, we ignored it. 3 / 5Veg clear soup – This was very very salty. Also, not hot enough. It was kind of luke warm, and wasn’t enjoyable at all. 2 / 5Chicken lollipop – Horrible experience. I had serious concerns about the main course, when we had the first bite of the lollipop. The oil it was fried in seemed to be the same in which fish were fried. It was very oily and had a strong odour (I am not using the word smell purposely), and tasted terribly even inside. To add to our plight, the dish was served on the table, and then we were orphaned. No serving plates were given to us, due to which the turned cold by the time we were successful in getting the plates. 1 (0) / 5Masala Papad – Great in the quantity of toppings, however could reduce the amount of sev and increase the amount of onions. 3 / 5Dakhkhan Special chicken fry – Good, well done, tasty chicken served, however the garlic used wasn’t peeled off, hence lost the charm. 2 / 5For main course, we ordered the following items -Kids mutton thali – decent quantity of mutton ukad, rassa, tambda – pandhra, chapati, rice. Was enjoyed by my daughter. 4 / 5Chicken masala – chicken pieces were a bit chewy. Gravy was good in from a spicy standpoint, but they had added a lot of chilly powder, which made it very hot in taste. Didn’t suit my taste buds. 3 / 5Mutton masala – I don’t try mutton a lot in hotels, but since I had read the reviews, went on to try it. I must say I wasn’t disappointed at all. Perfect combination of spices, super tender mutton pieces very well cooked (that literally melted in the mouth). The thickness of the gravy was perfect too. No place to complain. 5 / 5Malwani Kombdi wade – Good in taste, served piping hot which went great along with the gravies above. Only suggestion is that they should be less oily. 3 / 5Chapati – Special mention about the chapati, because it was super soft and was served hot, which was great. 4 / 5Veg Biryani – This was another big disaster. It was so so hot and spicy (in spite of asking for a less spicy version), the only veg person ordering the only dish for her could eat hardly 8-10 spoons complimenting it with more than a litre of water. 1 / 5Sol kadhi – Good one. Soothing taste. 3 / 5Chicken Biryani – this one was very spicy too, and we returned it. Since this order was cancelled, no review and rating for this one.Indrayani rice – We took a dish of rice. Served hot, it had a great aroma and flavours, and turned out to be a great choice. 4.5 / 5Service – The under-staffed members seemed to be confused, and under-trained. There was a big group, due to which they were unable to manage other tables (which made them totally left out and ignored). Couple of servers even had a verbal spat amongst each other, in front of the customers. When dishes were served, crockery was missing (which happened multiple times – soup, masala papad, starters, main course). There was only one person who took orders outside as well as two AC sections (approx. 25 tables). They need to work on this area seriously, if they care about the reduction in the number of customers. All in all, it was a mixed experience. I would recommend NOT choosing a-la-carte, and opting for thalis, which seem to be their specialty. Also, some dishes did not seem to be value for money, and overcharged for the quantity served (e.g. Chicken lollipop – 6 pieces – Rs. 200, Chicken fry – Rs. 300)Food – 3.5 / 5Ambience – 3 / 5Service – 2 / 5 (wanted to give 1, but adding a point more as a gratitude towards the efforts put in by the servers after expressing my disappointment)Overall – 2.5 (rounded off to 3) / 5

Dakhkhan Delicacies have launched the puran Poli thali that has 2 polis, one bowl each of katachi amti, dal, milk, ghee, aloo sabji 2 papad, kothimbir vadi ,koshimbir and a bowl of rice all for just 260 Rs.. Everything on the plate is freshly made and ensures you of good quality food at a great price. So, even on fasting days and on days when you are on a veg diet but want to indulge yourself out of home.. Dakhkhan delicacies is the right place..
