  Chequered flag is an authentic sports lounge bar situated in Hotel Sagar Plaza Pune Camp area that recreates an amazing atmosphere.The place is pretty small with amazing ambience based on F1 theme with Live sports screening. They serve some delicious finger food, north indian, chinese and continental cuisines.Currently they are having some amazing offers going on like selected Veg Starters (149 inclusive of taxes) and selected Non Veg Starters (199 inclusive of taxes) Starters:-1. Tai Pai Chicken- Fresh and juicy boneless chicken pieces with onions, bell pepper (Red & Yellow) and garlic tossed in chinese style soya sauce. Was good in taste and gave a nice start to the meal.2. Chicken Tandoor- Very popular dish from the indian sub-continent.The secret for making this dish perfect lies in the marination of the chicken and the chef scored full marks in this dish. Chicken was perfectly marinated and tasted delicious as the masala had reached till deep in the chicken.There was no artificial food color used in tandoori and it was yellowish in color due to turmeric used in marination.3. Veg Spring Rolls- Yummy and popular snack in which flour sheets are filled with vegetable filling and rolled. These are then deep fried till golden brown color; Spring rolls here were good. Had a crunchy outer coating but i felt the filling quantity should have been more and a bit spicy.Mains:-1. Chicken Biryani- Basic dish with nicely marinated chicken pieces mixed with aromatic long grain rice and spices. Had nice taste with soft chicken pieces.Deserts:-1. Assorted Fruits- Freshly cut pieces of fruits including watermelon, pineapple and apple.2. Bread Pudding- Bread based desert which is popular in many countries. Is made with bread,milk and cream,eggs.Was perfectly based with a nice texture and topped with fresh cream. Was mildly sweet which i liked as i’m not a sweet loving person.Overall:-1. Restaurant is hygienic 2. Ample parking space 3. Good food and courteous staff4. Prompt Service

  INTRODUTIONChequered Flag is a true sport bar located inside the Hotel Sagar Plaza. Sagar Plaza is located just Opposite to the Dastur School near the SGS mall Camp. It’s one of the oldest Place in Pune. It’s one of a kind sported bar in Pune. This bar is themed on bases of F1 Racing. It has sights of your favorite racing machine. They too have collectible cars displayed on the wall.AMBIENCEThe Ambiance is nice with dim lights and cozy interiors. The main theme of the place is racing F1 cars. A scale model of the Ferrari F1 car is hung on the wall. The place has frames of photos from the F1 history and some information about these cars. The roof has Led passing through it which adds a spark to the interiors of the Place. This place is true sports bar.FOODAppetizers Vermicelli Cheese Kebab Some veggies like potato carrots and peas mashed and mixed with cheese and make into some Balls. This Balls were coated with Vermicelli rather than coating with bread crumps. These were deep fried and made nice crisp. This was a mild spiced appetizer. The punch of cheese was lacking a bit. And it was oily for me, may be coz of the Vermicelli Coating on the top.Veg Spring Roll.Spring rolls are usually made out of big Flour sheets and then cut into Pieces. But here they had small size spring rolls wrapped in the smaller size sheets. Deep fried and made crisp. The outer side was nice and had that crunch to it. The filling was mild in spice. More filling would make this dish more flavourful.Chicken Thai Pai A typical Chinese Preparation perfect to accompany with your drinks. Nice chucky boneless pieces of chicken tossed in Chinese style sauce along with some red and yellow bell pepper and some spring onions. The sauce was soya-based sauce along with some garlic. It had nice sweet and sour taste. Aalishan Chicken.What’s better than chicken in chicken?? Chicken minced stuffed in chicken breast and cooked in tandoor. The chicken mince was perfectly cooked and had some spice to it. This mince was stuffed in the chicken breast. The breast was marinated in some Curd and black pepper. This stuffed breast was then cooked in tandoor. Then the kebab was topped with cheese to add that extra flavour to it. The chicken was tender and soft. The kebab melted in mouth. It had well balanced Flavours.Chicken Tandoor. One of the most renown Dish in India. Tandoor can be good only if the marination is done perfect and the chef must have a good knowledge of cooking in a tandoor Bhatti. The marination of the chicken here was spot on. The marination flavours were infused till the bone of the meat of the chicken. One thing I noticed about this was no added colour to it. Only one thing that I dislike about it was it had a Smell of oil and it was oily.MAINSChicken Kalwan.Kalwan is Basically a typical Maharashtrian style food masala. Its basically made of ginger garlic some Ground Garam masala Onions. The chicken was cooked in this masala. This was a thin curry based mains dish. The rassa was mild which would be spicier I felt. The Chicken in this was cooked properly wasn’t dry at all. The amount of oil could be reduced and the chicken fats also releases oil after cooking.Bhuna Gosht. A mutton dish cooked in a thick onion-based gravy. The mutton was nicely cooked and was tender. The main thing I felt was the over use of the onion for the dish. The onions made the dish sweet and overpower power it, due to which the other garam masala flavours got overshadowed.Chicken Biryani.It was basic biryani. Though it had the aroma which biryani should have. Nicely cooked long grain rice along with the garam masala spice and well-cooked chicken. It lacked the taste of the fried onions a bit. DESSERTSBread Pudding A sweet ending to meal always leave a smile on the face while leaving the table. Dint excepted such great bread pudding. The pudding was perfect on the sweetness. They have baked it perfectly which made the outer surface a bit crisp like cake.Phirni Phirni is pudding made of rice. It requires to get the perfect consistency of this phirni. This was not to thin was a nice viscous mix of Rice Water and Milk. There was a hint of Cardamom to it. This was definitely must eat dessert.VERDICTThis place is being here over more than 2 decades. The ambience is top notch here. The service is quite fast. The people are down to earth. No doubt on the hospitality. This place has lots of potential to be on the top. Just a bit of tiny changes is enough. The chef and manage positively took the feedback we gave. This place have to many ongoing offers which are really less expensive. hungrysoulsumedh.wordpress.com

  If you are racing car fan then you should try this place. The ambience is based on racing sport. The food quality is good and service is quick. You can enjoy the booze along with music.
