Many will disagree here with me, but to me the upma here was the best and by far tastier than any I have had in Pune. Being a South Indian myself, I can fairly say it was exactly as it should be. Not too sweet (sugar added to enhance the basic taste). The chutney served along with it was exactly how we prepare in our home. Best breakfast, and authentic I would say.

Guruprasad Snacks was my answer to a perfect South Indian breakfast on a Sunday morning. Away from the hustle bustle of the city, this one gets a little difficult to spot for passerby’s as it is into the by-lanes of Rasta peth. You’ll never find it crowded as it always is over-crowded. Outstanding low-cost South Indian Food, it’s a haven considering how unfitting the restaurants are in the neck of the woods. I do not know how pensive they’re for its expansion but they do lack space here. There are hardly 4-5 benches where no seating is available. You have to stand and savor the delicacies. Now coming to the awesome south Indian food they have to offer, I’d start with what i love the most,1) Medu/Udid Wada Sambar : They are pioneers now, that’s what i feel. The wada is just as it used to be, very consistent. The Sambar however lacks it’s old charm.2) Masala dosa : Again, not the same anymore, i feel they have hired a new chef.3) Puri bhaji : Yes! they serve Puri bhaji as well, have only had it once and quite liked it.All in all I’ve always had a good experience at this place, Would recommend hands on.Service : Self service! So better be prepared to help yourself.Food : 3.5/5 which is not bad at all.Ambiance : Never mind :p lazeezstories.com
