The dishes are overly priced. The quality of the food is very similar to just any other regular food joint you’d find around the corner. They’ll charge even for a hardened jodi of paav which in other restaurants is usually given at the same price of the regular jodi. It’s just a hype nothing else.
I always thought that finding a parking spot in Mumbai is a tedious task, but it is equally bad in Pune. So after going back-n-forth twice on the same road and being pushed by hospitals and socities from their gates, we felt hungry and spotted this crowded pav bhaji place. There were lot of people waiting for their parcels and tables to be vacated. So we were getting a postive vibe about this place. We got a table soon. It’s a very small place with congested seating arrangement. We quickly placed the order for some cheese pav bhajis, some normal pav bhajis, some extra pavs and some masala pavs. Usually the order taking and serving skills of wait staff at such places is exciting as they memorize things pretty well and do everything very fast. But this place was a little different. Our order was pretty straightforward and yet he messed it up twice. Our hunger eventually forced us to give up and eat what was served. The pav bhaji wasn’t that great. Infact it wasn’t even good. We get much better pav bhajis in Mumbai. No offence meant to Pune but all offences meant to this place serving mediocre pav bhaji. If you’re claiming it to be your speciality, it better be special. Right?
I ordered for 2 bhajis. One regular and the other was non spicy (munna). I mentioned it in the cooking instructions, if it is suppose to be overlooked why do they mention it?!!
The best Pah Bhaji you will ever eat. I’ve tried all the so called ‘best’ restaurants of Pune and Mumbai. After all these years, nothing beats a Pav Bhaji from Rajendra.
