The menu being unusual I was excited to try them. I ordered kolambi lipta and chicken keema pattice. I love prawns but the kolambi lipta had way too much oil and onions. That amount of oil literally made me feel pukish. The keema pattice was okay, nothing great but a bit sweet. Not my kinda food.
CKP Zayka is the only decent eatery near my college and thereby is the only option for my lunches. Promoted with the objective of taking CKP cuisine to the masses, Mr. Gupte, owner, started this little venture which successful satisfied our taste buds today. Interior is full of contemporary stuff as well as pictures of prominent community members. Food dishes were are fusion of few other cuisines but thier specialty was being made in thier tradition CKP style. Ordered Chicken Lollypops (Rs. 200) which were not like by us. This was followed by Prawns fry (Rs. 150) They were fried in rawa and were liked by all of us. Main Course included CKP style Chicken Biryani. I loved the plates in which that was served. Accompanied with Raita, Biryani was colourful & flavorful. A sprinkle of burnt onion was a welcome addition and improved the look and taste of the dish. Ended with Solkadi (Rs. 20), a traditional Kokani drink consumed mostly in Konkan Region of Maharashtra. They had thier own take on it. Was way different than the usual Solkadi, more on the sour and tangy side. Appreciated by some, disliked by others. Overall I liked it. But got mixed reactions overall.
biryani not recommendable
The usal they served was pathetic !! Had to search for usal in that !! Only water was served . Chiken served was tasteless and only spicy.
One of the best malvani food available here. A bliss of tasty food and a combination of malvan masala jus makes your mood and fills in perfectly with the good quality and quantity of food provided.
On 16/12/2018, I ordered 2x Chicken Masala from CKP Zayka Restaurant in afternoon and the order was good and taste was very well!Hence during dinner I order 1x Chicken Masala and this is what I received! I contacted the restaurant and a lady received it and I told the issue to her, however she was accepting the fault.After talking for 5mins, the lady told that she’ll contact me within 5mins, it’s been 30mins and no reply and they’re not receiving my call!
I ordered kheema pav and vade plate. The quantity was less. And the chicken kheema was watery and oil layer floating on top. Im fan of ckp food at the ckp food fest. But my first order with ckp tadka was disappointment. The owners please keep a watch in the kitchen, I was expecting quality food from CKP Zayka. Would try other items next time. Please work on the above mentioned points.
