Brunches are all about food, relaxing and enjoying the laid back day. And to enjoy that, I made my way to a Sunday brunch to Asian Kitchen at Four Points by Sheraton. When you enter the place, just before that you see a little flea market setup for you where you can buy potted plants, art and other artifacts. They have an astrologer, magician, a mascot and live music slog with access to pool. That means it has something for everyone! Full family feels this place gave me. The spread is quite exhaustive with cuisines ranging from Chinese, Indian and even chaat and few continental dishes. The best part- they have a separate counter for kiddos and kids below 5 years are not charged! We started off with some chaat and the chef whipped up a delicious, spicy and well made dahi puri and sev batata puri. Generous in quantity and well made. Next we made our way to the snacks counter and tried everything from paneer tikka to sushi. Tried Manchurian, pizza, paneer tikka, salads, veg sushi, and the cheese platter .. In all most of them very pretty decent. Apart from this they have soups, welcome drinks and live pasta counter. Next we went for the mains- Had the chili garlic noodles which were pretty good, but the stellar thing was the Dal Makhani! It was just fabulous. There was Biryani, curries and Chinese gravies to be make it a while some meal. Next I tried the hot jalebi made live with rabri on top, and it was freaking amazing. Best thing of the brunch! Make sure if its available you do not leave without having it. We finished off the meal with the dessert platter and warm waffles. While the dessert platter was average with a lot of berry and chocolate desserts, the waffles were outstanding. Warm, fluffy and delicious. Couldn’t have asked for a better end to the meal. In all, spent a happy Sunday afternoon, gorging on beautiful jalebis, waffles and relishing the dal makhni, and I will be back to try out more whenever I’m visits g Vashi again! Happy hogging 🙂
We stayed at this place and must we say..we were shocked by quality of food here. First of all we were told there is no pizza base available! Then we resorted to veg and chicken sandwiches, paratha, canalloni and waffles. Only the veg sandwich tasted good. Instead of canalloni I got lasagne, waffle was chewy n eggy. Paratha was ok. I don’t know if this is how they serve the room service or everything else. Tiramisu and pinacolada were fine. The fish and chips was oily.
Asian Kitchen – 4 points by Sheraton Grand, Vashi. This place is located near Inorbit Mall ,Vashi. We planned to visit this place for a team lunch and decided to opt for the lunch buffet. We booked our table using the Dineout app and could avail the Lunch Buffet for RS 749/-The place is quite spacious with a great ambience for parties and office gatherings. The buffet had an extensive menu, so let’s get started with what we had1. Soup Section – There were 2 options of Soup. One was a vegetarian and the other was a non vegetarian one. I do not recollect the name of the Non vegetarian soup, but the vegetarian one was named Tom-Yum. It was a bit tangy in my opinion. There were 6-8+ condiments you could add to your soup to enhance its taste.2. Veg Starters – I feel that the restaurant can work on the number of options in vegetarian starters. There were just 2 starters -Crispy Veg and Cheese Shots3. Salad Section – Enough options with Salad, both veg and non vegetarian. Also, you could make your own Salad. There was Chicken Salami Salad in the non vegetarian section.4. Bread Section- Man, what a variety! Breads, croissants, toasts, sticks, name them and they have it all. They serve it with butter or cheese to enhance its taste.5. Chaat Counter – I’m not a sucker for Chaats at 5 star restaurants, but I tried the Dahi Kachori chaat.6. Main course – The main course counter had enough options to satiate your taste buds. Rice, Jeera Rice, Dal Tadka, Chicken in Black bean sauce, Hakka Noodles were some of their options7. Dessert Counter- Last but not the least, I loved their desserts. They had the following options in their dessert menu:- Mohanthal- Caramel Custard- Chocolate Mousse- Red Velvet Pastry- Pineapple Pastry- Strawberry Souffle- Malai Sandwich- Gulab JamunThe service was good . Most items in their buffet were bland and I think the staff can work on it.

It’s been a while since I’ve written a review and I decided to break my dry spell with the Asian Kitchen restaurant by Four Points by Sheraton. The Marathwada Food Festival specially curated by Chef Bandu Ugalmugale was enticing. As someone who’s never tried Marathwada cuisine, what better way than to go head on?Chef Bandu was kind enough to explain the difference and specialties of Marathwada cuisine as compared to Malvani cuisine which is most prevalent and familiar to the commoner’s tongue. On the menu were crowd favorites like deep fried Bombil(yummy and my first time trying) and Aloo Vadi served with the tangy mint and coriander chutney. For mains, there was mutton cha rassa which was very tender, Komdiche Kalvan a chicken curry cooked with delicate spice levels, which could be eaten either with steamed rice, or Khichdi Bhat. I chose to take advantage of the live counter where I had bhakri, a kind of flat bread made from wheat or Jhowar which were served piping hot. Also on the menu were vegetarian fare like chavli chi bhaji- black eyed peas in an aromatic onion-tomato gravy, kabi bhaji-the humble cabbage spiced with lentils- dal, shevgyach kalvan-drumstick curry with dil leaves, and jhunka. At the live counter were also a variety of mango pickles, and mildly spiced buttermilk available on tap.I piled my plate with all that was on offer, and I must say I found myself wanting to go for seconds, particularly the cabbage preparation and the mutton preparation which was tender and literally falling off the bone. Lip smacking! My already high cholesterol levels made me choose otherwise. For dessert I decided to finish off with pineapple sheera, puran poli(which was served hot off the live counter) and a khullad of mildly spiced buttermilk. There were other desserts like cheesecake, gujjiya, fresh fruit, and kabnyachi vadi but I wanted my palate to remember and retain this Marathwada culinary experience. For the record, pineapple sheera is bae and this one did not disappoint. The semolina was buttery or ‘ghee-ey'(a neologism that I take credit for) to the right degree and there wasn’t that artificial pineapple essence that is unfortunately present in commercially made sheera. The puran poli was soft, filled with enough jaggery and dal, and thin enough for me to opt for a second helping. The mildly spiced butter milk helped me end this Marathwada culinary experience on a tangy note, which I quite enjoyed.I’d recommend patronage of this food festival, particularly for those who are curious about this cuisine or those who patronize with it gusto. Either way, you won’t be disappointed. The restaurant is well lit, airy, staff are attentive and there’s a duo who sing Bollywood or classical music as you fill your belly. Chef Bandu’s sincerity and desire to promote Marathwada food shines and is evident from the taste in the food on offer.
