Tea or ‘chai’ is an intrinsic part of every Indian, and its necessity doesn’t need to be explained. India’s diversity is unparalleled and so is Chai in every corner of it. The eastern part of India prefers Black Tea or the lemon tea variant. Central to Western to Northern India loves to add a flavour or two to their cup of tea, and South India oozes the smell of fresh milk. Now, this calls for constant ideas, and Pune has come forth and delivered the best by far.Tandoor Chai, which has all ready stretched to Kolkata a few months back, is a Pune-based creation. The use of the famous clay-ovens usually used to make Tandoors and alike, is now being used to serve piping hot Tandoor Chai.Tandoor Chai in Viman Nigar is one such place, and our recent experience was a memorable one. Now, don’t expect it to be entirely different from the native ones, but the Tandoor smoke is a big plus. A kulhad or clay-pot is put inside the oven and the tea is made separately. Now, the Kulhad is used to add flavour to it.Do try their Tandoor Chai, and don’t forget the Bun Maska with it. Typical ‘Chai’ lovers would still want theirs to be simple, but giving a shot at it, isn’t a bad idea.
