We were looking for a decent fine-dine place serving Indian food for a family get together and Via Bombay was perfect for that occasion. We went for a late dinner and after waiting for a few minutes, we were allotted a table. The service was prompt and the staff was gracious. I found very limited options for vegetarians but, the food was great overall. The ambiance is elegant and chic with well detailed exquisite decorations and uniform wooden chair seating arrangements. As soon as you enter the place, you get a very homely feeling but it is a bit cramped if it is a full-house.Starting with our meal, this chilly winter makes you yearn for piping hot soup so, we called for delicious bowls of tomato shorba and manchow vegetarian soup. Also, I called for chana garlic chatpata and fried masala papad to munch on with my drink paan pasand. To be honest the gulkand was highly overpowering making the drink over sweet and undesirable. I did ask the waiter to make some changes but they weren’t significant, so I found it mildly alcoholic and highly flavored. For the main course, we ordered dum ki kaali dal with churra paratha. The thali consisted of dal makhani, churra paratha and thick curd. The lentil was simmered overnight giving it an extremely creamy texture and finger-licking flavor. Off the menu, they even have paneer tikka masala. The red gravy was rich and mildly spiced with well-cooked, perfectly marinated paneer cubes and veggies. One more disappointing fact was the limitation in flat-bread. Almost all the Indian bread from their menu consists of eggs leaving hardly 1-2 options for pure vegetarians. We also had Jewel Sabz Biryani. 10/10 for the presentation. It was served in a small pressure cooker along with a super cute rice spoon. The biryani was served with a fresh raita. It spelled the perfect taste of Indian spices. The gravy, veggies and rice blended to create a magic on the platter. Coming to their desserts, they were the best possible dishes to end your meal. The dark Chocolate pastry was delightfully rich and reasonably satisfying. The bill comes with pepsi cola which was a nostalgic hit for all of us. Loved the place will surely visit again, sooner this time.

viva bombay has been a new opening in chembur right next to le cafe . I had really high expectations from the place . But kind of a bit disappointed from the place . The service is very slow and the staff is always confused with the orders .One must say their menu is very precise but less of options for vegetarians . The service from the staff is good they are well versed with the menu and try and suggest you the best .1- Drumstick soup2- Khichiya3- masala papad4- Roti basket5- Hari mirchi ke kebab6- Paneer Pasanda (which was too sweet to be eaten )over all a 3/4 for the place.

It was great experience there. The staff people are so nice and welcoming. They will elaborate about dishes. We ordered masala papad which was tooo good. Planner pahadi tikki was not that good. White wine was good too. Overall it was nice.
