The Odia Satvick dishes, uses generous amount ginger, hing (asafoetida), moong and coconuts. These ingredients are the reason behind the much-loved Odia food and its signature taste.Guest was welcomed with a glass of mango lassi. For starter (soup), they had traditional dahi kanji which showed how devoted Chef Swain and Chef Mathura were to present the crowd with authentic Odia food.Focusing on a purely vegetarian menu and Satvik food is a challenge. But since Empires was the only one hosting such a Satvik buffet, it was well accepted by the people. The menu was elaborate and people were presented with a variety of dishes. For starter – Nadia pachudi- sweet and sour coconut and curd based chutney topped with pomegranate seeds to add crunch. For the main course: Kanika, Odia rice, Sada ghanta,Mooga Dali, Chhena Aloo Tarkari, Dahi Baigana, Saga Muga Nadia, Kabuli Chana Potala, Kakera, Home style Paratha

I’ve been to this place several times and it aches my heart to admit that the standard has only deteriorated over the course of time. This place used to be my favourite place to have the awesome Dum Murgh ki kacchi Biryani, but sadly it doesn’t taste like that anymore.I wanted to give it a 2 star but just because of the ambience it’s a 3 star. It’s neat and clean and the staffs are friendly and approachable.

This place was a suggestion from one of my close acquaintance, based on my preference to dine in at a resto that hosts decent ambience. This resto has well decorated interiors and primarily serves buffet lunches & dinners, it costs around 800 bucks per person and the spread includes a welcome drink, salads, veg and non veg soup, 2 veg starters and 1 non veg starter, chicken biryani, mutton curry, fish fry, manchurian, panner curry and 3 to 4 vegetarian delicacies and deserts. Must say I was completely disappointed by the quality and taste of the food served and I personally feel this place is overpriced. The starters were cold and stale, main course was more or less the same, nothing great to differentiate from other restos, the best part was the deserts, they were yummy, loved both fried rasgulla and gulab jamun. Overall my rating forFood – 2/5Cost – 2/5Ambience – 3/5

Amazing food. Price is little bit on the higher side, but the service is excellent. Food quantity & quality is great. Do watch out for food festivals, which offers an amazing spread of non-veg.

I wish I cud give LESS than 1 point but that’s not possible here. We asked for veg tandoor platter for starters. Loosers gave us only Gobi and Patal. The menu said with cheese sauce which was nowre found. When asked to change it they started hesitating. Such fancy hotel emperor with 3 restaurants inside. No valet parking as well. Very bad experience.
