Probably one can choose this place just because it’s open 24hrs and is located inside a big hotel. Its not crowded at all you will be the only one visiting. If you really want some hot strong coffee please don’t go here. Coffee is served cold. The ambience is just fine. Pastries are ok. They just take more time for any order.
This is probably the only restaurant apart from le cafe which serves food late night.. So when hunger struck at midnight.. Me and my husband.. Went to have a midnight buffet on a Sunday.. The menu is not very elaborate.. they had a soup, 2 salads, a fish curry, a paneer curry, daal, rasam, pulao and dosa to go with all.. The food is just average.. Nothing as such was that good which needs a special mention. The dessert had a dry chocolate sponge, which was much below average.. So go if it’s the only option you have..
Tiny little cafe, beautifully done and quite pleasant. Courteous staff and good service.Good coffee :)Vanilla ice cream with gulab jamun is seriously something that you should try.P.S. I didn’t click the jamuns, was busy eating 🙂
So me and my friends needed a midnight (make it 3 am) snack in Pondicherry. Rain pouring down and with coffee nowhere to be found, we decided to finally drop by café de Paris. The punctuality and grace with which they received us here even at the late hour, is something I have found missing in a lot of places, specially here in South India. Le Royal Park being a fancy hotel, one would expect it’s cafe to be priced pretty high. And it is. And they do take quite some time to get you your meal. (if they take 20 mins for a couple of people, one can imagine what happens during rush hour). The staff receives you well, though, and the ambience is dapper. The food seemed pretty good, loved the sandwiches and the coffee. Too heavy on the pocket for regular visits, else a nice place if you want to take someone out, specially after 11 pm and especially if you are tired of les café.
Had to grab a midnight snack and found Dis to be in my locale. Petite and tucked into a corner. An extensive vegetarian menu with limited dosa and chicken gravy as an add on. The chilli potato was food and as any other eat out in pondy the dessert and salads were splendid.
