We traveled to pondichery with a big gang of 15 people. After reaching we were searching for some good food. Suddenly though google baba we found this Bengali restaurant over here. Food quality is good and cheap. Rasgulla, pantua is also available . Taste is also awesome. We got Hot rasgulla at evening. To have a Bengali taste in pondichery it is the perfect place to be.Also they prepared food for my 1 year kid upon request, that was great.

A Bengali restaurant in pondi wow. The restaurant from the outside does not look decent but why to judge a cover by its book so made my way in without a second thought. On my visit to pondi i was getting sick of eating french cuisine and desired for some home cooked food. You cant say that this is a typical bengali food but the thali that they gave was amazing enough to satisfy your home food taste buds. They provide veg thali, chicken thali, fish thali. Fish either curry or fried. Price is very cheap compared to other restaurants in pondi. I had chicken thali which they gave rice, papad, one raw chilli & lime, subji, daal, chicken curry about 2 to 3 pieces and a small bowl of sweet chatni. I loved it coz i prefer such meals at the end of the day.

Was craving for some home bengali food in pondicherry and finally got a place where me and my brother could have some heart filling bengali food.. took fish thali which had rice daal ruhu fish(1 big piece) and vegetable.. If you want to have bengali food here in pondicherry, this is your place to go.

Staffs are very impolite. Behaviour is unprofessional. Since no other Bengali style restaurants are available in the area, probably that’s why they are taking advantage of it. The bhindi served was raw on day1. Fried fish was asked for, which they readily denied to give. Asked for ‘alu bhaja’ and they said they can’t go out of the way to serve something customised. Either have what is already there or else get lost type of attitude. Taste of food is not that bad. Certainly a respite for Bengalis who can’t tolerate South Indian style meals. Also they will ask u to take off shoes before sitting inside. That’s grossly insane since the place is not that clean.

The first day in Pondi, we were lost for a place to have lunch. After watching the mesmerizing Bay of Bengal, we were lost for thoughts as well!! The heat too caught up on us and the strength was lost for a bit of scouting.Going by the internet reviews, we thought this will be a nice place to have some Bengali fare. So we took the next auto rickshaw and landed here. The funny part is, the auto rickshaw stayed with us for the rest of the tour but this place just faded away. The place has nothing to write home about except the food. The bad part is, everything was served cold. The good part is, the taste was really homemade Bengali fare. I would just say to avoid this place despite the taste. It is just a mere ordinary paise hotel from the streets of Bengal. The prices were not also the cheapest though!! So better look for the other exotic eat outs in Pondicherry. However it is very close to the Aurobindo Ashram and I am sure the bongs will be gaga about eating here. My suggestion to the hotel is to improve instead of being a damp squib.
