If you are a Bengali and slightly tired after a half a day’s traveling in Pondicherry and your stomach is yearning for some sumptuous Bengali meal then this restaurant is the correct place for you. Centrally located with stone throw distance Rishi Aurobindo’s ashram this restaurant is having good spacious seating arrangement with both AC and Non AC facility. We had ordered Fish thali and Egg Thali. The items included the Quintessential Sukto, mashed potatoes (Bengali style), dal, cauliflower curry fish/egg , papad, tomato chutney and gulab jamun (tasted more like pantua). The items were really delicious and not too spicy or oily which fitted perfectly to our choice. Pretty home style food you can say. Fish was Rohu and again not too spicy and the fish was fresh and tasty as well. The gulab jamun was extra soft which provoked our taste buds to ask the manager for some more variety of sweets. We had Rasagulla and Kalakand both of which were ultimate sweetilicious and gives you a real taste of Bengali sweets. For Non- bengalis who are excited to taste some Bengali food and sweets you should surely stop by this restaurant and it won’t disappoint your tastebuds. Lastly good staff members and they will serve you extras as well for Thali.
