The staff isn’t trained very well. The main course of seafood wasn’t available on our visit on Christmas day. Chicken 65 order was served as Chicken Pakoda. Though this was recommended by out host, I doubt we will visit this place again.

Hopeless service. Even after 45 minutes of wait the food was not served and we eventually left the restaurant without eating.Only plan your meal here if you can spare 3-4 hours.
The biryani we ordered was stale with uncooked chicken. The biryani was not even hot. Sad to have experienced such bad food. One star for this place is one start too many. Bad experience.
I have been to this place twice during my stay in Auroville and I was disappointed both the times. The only saving graces for this place are the poolside location, ambience, and free WiFi.The service is extremely poor. They didn’t give us water for 20 minutes after we were given the table. I had to go and walk up to the staff and remind them for everything I wanted.I ordered pasta Al pesto in spaghetti pasta and I was served penne instead. The pasta was extremely terrible. The staff member just laughed when I told him that I had ordered something else.We found an insect in our french fries which was thankfully then replaced, however better hygiene standards are expected. The order in which the food arrives is also an issue which isn’t expected from such a fine looking restaurant.Surprisingly their North Indian fare was little better in the sense that it was atleast eatable. We ordered spicy Paneer Butter Masala and we were served a gravy which didn’t look like Paneer Butter Masala at all but was eatable, however eatability is not a standard I guess that such a premium looking place should be judged on. Much more was expected and which wasn’t delivered. Their Veg Biryani and Baingan Bharta were okay. Tomato soup was bad.As far as food is concerned, dessert turned out to be the best item. Chocolate brownie with ice cream was good, which I assume is the case because most of it’s ingredients are outsourced. Also there is a street cat that roams around the place freely and I believe not everyone loves to have a cat near them especially when they are having their food.Overall, it’s a disastrous place which one must avoid to prevent a gastronomic disaster. Go there only if you want to use the free WiFi and have a cup of coffee at a poolside location.
We had a lot of time to kill so we decided to do the lunch plus pool package at mango hill. For 610 RS you can access the pool from 8 am to 6 pm and also have a lunch package which involves chicken fried rice or fried noodles, along with coffee and a soft drink. Initially we thought the rice or noodle would not be filling and ordered some additional sides which were chilli beef and calamari. But when the food came, we were shocked by the quantity and the good taste. We need not have ordered the additional dishes. We had a hard time finishing our food! (This does not happen often). Food was lovely all in all the value for money is amazing and we were very happy with our experience. The pool is also amazing with the mango tree in the centre. It was a bit cold when we were there so we didn’t spend as much time as we would have liked in the pool but chilling by the poolside was equally enjoyable. Overall 5 stars for everything!PS. They also had a pretty decent looking breakfast buffet for 250 RS per person. We didn’t get to try it ourselves as we had already eaten beforehand (and we regret having done so at Baker Street cafe).
Food was good, but the salad a bit too salty. Sizes of dishes seem to shrink and some of the best choices on the menu are not available. May be due to the season, but never has that before at this place. Worth a try for once
