  Yesterday we visited caraway – hotel mandarin, it is located at shimla kalka highway , zirakpur.Ambience was decent , staff was also very polite.Food- we bought meal for 2 coupon ( costs 549).Soup- hot n sour soup( too spicy, not good)Starter- cheeze chilli (ok , it should be more saucy )Main course- dal makhni( tasty)Paneer lababdar( very delicous)Jeera riceButter roti( awesom)Dessert- gulab jamun( Ok).Quantity of food was enough for 2 ppl.We tried veg course meal for Rs549.Non veg meal are also available for Rs 599.

  Last night I visited Caraway for the third time. Caraway is the restaurant of hotel Mandarin, located in Zirakpur on Kalka-Shimla Highway. You enter the hotel Mandarin to a small lobby, the restaurant is located on the first floor, the stairway/lift to it is located towards the left. We had bought a 4 course dinner coupon and our dinner choices were based on that specific menu. So coming to the various parameters of this review:Ambience: The restaurant is clean and ambience is good, the dimply lit (sufficient light but not towards bright) makes the dinner experience good. Furniture is comfortable to be seated in. It is not a very big restaurant, but is decently sized. Service: The staff in general was courteous. The last time I went there, I felt that it was pretty cold in there due to low AC temperatures, I requested them to maintain the temperature moderately and they very courteously did that for me. They serve you with politeness, and cater to any specific needs that you may have. Food: The food is quite good, and that is the only reason that made me come to this restaurant straight 3 times in a row. I have had the following dishes on multiple occasions:- Sweet corn soup: Very delicious. Must have.- Chatpate bhutte ke kabab: They are really good, but are on the spicy side. I loved them, but if you are not used to having chilly or much spices, this may not be for you or you may ask the chef to make it less spicy. – Paneer tikka: Tasted good, was liked by all my family members- Spinach corn roll: it was a spring roll with spinach and sweet corn filling. This was just okay-ish for me as I do not like spring rolls. But if you love spring rolls, you can try it. – Daal Makhni: Decent. Good flavor- Malai Kofta: For me this was the best of the lot. Nice cashew gravy that is velvety in texture, the blend of sweet and spices is just right enough to give you the right flavor. Not many restaurants make a decent Malai Kofta, they either go overboard with spices or with sweetness. But these guys nailed it, it was just finely balanced and tasted great. The koftas were decently sized and rightly made. Must have.- Paneer Makhni- This was good. Nothing much different than other Paneer makhnis that I have tried, but anyways was good in taste.- Rotis: Soft and served hot. Good. – Gulaab Jamun: Way too good. Must try.- Icecreams: Decent.Quanity: Definitely good, more than enough for two people. You would eat to your heart’s content. My overall dinner experience was really good. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting, I took my extended family here who came to visit me, and they too liked the food.

  Good place for family outing. Food was good and quantity was also satisfactory. Need more improvements in service. Sitting is limited but ambience was good.

  They have very good ambiance, quite neat and clean. Food quality is superb. Staff is really courteous and service is good. Overall a very good place for dinner.
