Ludhiana has a little treasure trove tucked discreetly in the cool bylanes of the heart of the city.Set in a century old rambling house,Haveli Thekedaraan di is a heritage building that takes you back in time.With stained glass windows and doors,wooden rafters on the ceilings and steep stairs that lead to brick paved terraces that open into cool rooms it is absolutely delightful!Old bric a brac abound – an ancient radio,a terracotta yoghurt setter,old lamps-all add up to an old world ambience.And to top it all it is run by someone who is passionate about the craft of food.Each dish that passes out from the kitchen bears his personal stamp.It is good old fashioned hearty fare that is immensely satisfying.A highly personalised set up,the charming couple who own the place derive great pleasure from feeding people and are genuinely warm and hospitable.Old world courtesy and charm personified.I wish Ludhiana had a tradition of heritage walking tours through the old city to celebrate such places and give the younger generation a glimpse into the past and experience an unhurried and personalised dining experience.A must visit in my opinion.I would highly recommend a visit to the place.
I had an amazing experience there.. Though I just had a cup of monchaw soup only.. But it was really awesome.. Perfectly cooked and hot when served..And the amazing part was the crispy noodles above hot soup.. Hope to visit the place soon again and have some more delicious dishes
This is what food tastes like. Today was a perfect three course meal that i could have had. From soup to snacks to mail course, every bit of it was perfect and absolutely delicious. This restaurant is a must must try for all. The staff members and the owner are the sweetest people I could meet. Their tandoori chicken and tangdi chicken was perfectly cooked. Butter chicken was exactly how it is supposed to be and the soup was my favourite.
