I am giving it four stars just because of the ambience. The good thing about this place was it’s ambience and the traditional Rajasthani folk dance. I visited there on my birthday. We would have ordered more to drink & eat. First of all service was slow, 2stars for service. Hospitality was poor. 3star for hospitality. Last but not the least, we noticed two of the salesman at Anjum tasting the drinks of customers twice before serving the same to the customers. That was the reason we left that place as it’s not expected from a five star property, else we would have stayed for longer. It’s a request to the managerial staff to take such issues seriously.

If you are searching for some heavenly cakes for birthdays or anniversaries; this place is the prefect choice for you. Their chefs are courteous and will go out of the way to help you. I personally contacted Chef Vikas to order their chocolate and blueberry cake; and was served amazingly well. Their cakes are spongy and have a perfect balance of flavours. They melt as soon as you take a bite.Make sure to try their gamut of scrumptious cakes!

Fairmont Jaipur is pretty far from the city, but we knew this and still wanted to experience Afternoon Tea followed by dinner at Fairmont as it is the only one in India. The property is beautiful, it has all the elements for a fab 5* experience. Unfortunately the service really let it down, and the poor quality of cakes. The server that we got was clueless about the menu. We wanted his recommendation on drinks but he failed to even wing it, he knew nothing about them. Same with the teas, he knew the names but not what they were. Flowering tea was served in a regular teapot with the ‘flower’ squished into the strainer basket. He stood mostly over our shoulder which was quite invasive and considering he wasn’t much help or use we found it very invasive. This ruined our experience completely and left us very annoyed as he was very full-on without being of any use at all with poor listening skills to top it all off.The cakes were very dry, and clearly gone off and scones were weird tiny cardboard balls. We were served whipped cream instead of clotted cream. We came out shocked, angered, frustrated and shocked at the really low standards even for a local 3 star hotel, let alone the only Fairmont in the country. We have been to all the luxury hotels in Jaipur on our visit from the UK and this was a truly disappointing and regrettable experience.2.5 Stars for the beautiful property, Not a soul in any of the restaurants or lobby — totally EMPTY! 😮

At 5pm, we gathered at Anjum for the Fairmont High Tea experience. It was a chance to know each other well over an unrivalled selection of authentic, high quality teas. Sitting in the lobby area and enjoying my hot beverage, I couldn’t help but notice the ornate murals and comfortable lounge style sofas all around. The view of the majestic willow Stream Spa from Anjum gleaming against the azure pool is a sight to behold. I was told that Anjum is a popular haunt for holding tea tasting sessions. Also, the Fort Lighting Ceremony takes place just outside Anjum each evening.Slowly yet steadily, as the conversation grew deeper, Anjum transformed into a romantic evening lounge with stars on the ceiling twinkling away. rahulprabhakar.com

Recently got an opportunity to experience the hospitality of Fairmont. Very polite and friendly staff. Anjum is the open coffee shop and is like an extension of the reception area yet very separate from it. The seating is comfortable and you can choose from the different options they have.At first look it gives an impression of an open bar. The brewing area is surrounded by bar stool style options for seating. The rest of the area has plush seats and sofas in beige and brown and elegant cushions thrown in for extra comfort. At High Tea (which in terms of food items was not like the traditionally followed concept) we were served different options for tea and coffee. Breaking down some of the options with rating below:- Masala Chai which I would personally rate at 1 out of 5. It was too heavy on the milk and the reason it is known as masala chai, was too less.- For tea they had a variety of options to choose from like Earl Grey, Assam, Chamomile and the quality was as good as the packaging. Would rte them 4 out of 5 here.- Coffee I’ll rate as 4.5. Not sure which brand it was but it was good. Best had black but adding milk and sugar did not take away the taste of coffee.- Accompanying eatables were very basic but fresh so 4 out of 5. They had Potato wafers, biscuits (which personally I am not fond of but others liked), Puha Sev and one interesting sweet that I have forgotten the name for. Liked the way they set up everything. The dishes were clean and fresh. The huge jar that they had for water was part of old style utensils confirming any doubts of being in Rajasthan. All in all it was a good experience. The place is probably on the higher side of the price range but worth the expense if one just wants to enjoy peace and calm with a good cup of tea or coffee.
