(3.5)When in Jaipur, apart from the obvious tourist attractions in the city, one must try the cuisine of the place which is a monument all by itself. We were a group of 4 who were very cognizant of this fact, and zeroed in on Handi Fusion to indulge in the culinary delights of Rajasthan.First things first – finding a parking spot near the place, especially because of the one way road in front of it, is quite the pain. One needs to be prepared for it. There is a government parking a little further away from the place, right at the chauraha from where the one way street leads to Handi. We walked from that spot to Handi and got seated at the upper deck.We ordered the staples – Jaisalmeri Laal Maas, Junglee Maas and Mutton Tikka. The Junglee Maas was the first to arrive. Cooked in Whole Red Chillis, Ghee and Pepper, it was the pièce de résistance of the place. The flavour was beyond amazing, making even the less hungry of the group wolf it down like nothing. A must try at the place. The Laal Maas though, was good but not great. The pairing with Bajre ki Roti was a very unique touch for us, but the dish, despite being good, lost out easily to the Junglee Maas. The Mutton tikka was above average but not too remarkable. The accompanying Pineapple Raita that we ordered to temper the heat of the dishes if need be was very nice, as was the Fresh Lime Soda.I’m not sure if there are other places in Jaipur to try as this was the one that came highly recommended, but I would love to make a comparative analysis of the food with the other popular non vegetarian restaurants in Jaipur to analyse it more thoroughly.Well worth our visit though.
Need I say more about this legendary place? Located adjacent to the original Handi, this place stays open throughout the day and serves from the same kitchen. We ordered Junglee Maas and Laal Maas. Junglee Maas was soft, succulent and not spicy at all. Laal Maas, on the other hand, lived up to its reputation of being one of the most fiery mains ever. Had it with butter roti (they were really generous with the butter). Memorable eat out
