Would give 4.5 It’s a modern place with dishes from all around the world. Everything is amazing from the decor crockery to staff. We ordered the following: Blush velvet smoothie, Ragi Nachos, Ramen, Smashed Avacado toast, super food green dumpling, Saigon noodles, Everything was great except. The ramen bowl, the broth was very bland even with a lot of vegetables, lacked flavors.
Cafe White Sage is a breath of fresh air in a city that is filled with restaurants that serve vegetarian Indian food. Even though they serve veg food, they pretty much make sure that you don’t miss the non-veg at all. Their dishes are quite innovative and unique and in two visits in two days (yes, we liked the place so much that we visited it back-to-back, and pretty much covered up the entire menu). We would like to start with the most unique thing on the menu – the Matcha Coconut Water, two of our most favourite forms on liquid combined in one to make the most refreshing concoction ever. Next up is the white wine mojito, quite a lethal drink, pretty different from most concoctions, didn’t mind having it at all. We are going to start writing about the food and it may take a while. We would like to start with both the hummus platters, the seasonal hummus plate with chunks of raw mango making the starter taste so incredible. The warm falafel served with it was so good too. The seasonal mezze platter had a whole lot of stuff in it with different flavoured and coloured hummus making it look super presentable. We just couldn’t get our eyes off it. The Ragi nachos were our favourite. So tasty, so light and so refreshing. We absolutely loved the light cheese sauce that they poured all over it. The truffle fries were on point and so was the basil and pesto flatbread. It was topped with all things beautiful. The superfood green dumpling was mindblowing as well. All of these blasts of flavours were so unique that we had never experienced before. The red rice sushi was amazing too, we loved the crunchiness of the cucumber in it. And the lattice pan-friend gyoza was nothing like all the greesy and oily gyozas we have ever had. The avocado toast too was a delight. Absolutely loved the way they served it separately so that it doesn’t become soggy. It became pretty difficult to choose our favourite dish from the lot. We had the Sichuan Dan-dan noodle soup that was spicy and so flavourful. We had the falafel wrap that was BOMB. The Saigon noodles were just our everyday vermicelli given a Vietnamese touch and we relished the flavours given to it. The giant handmade ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta served in the arrabbiata sauce is our top pick probably because we haven’t seen a ravioli that size ever and it blew our mind.Maybe what was a miss for us was spiced raw mango curry with red rice. It was a little on the sweeter side and did not match our taste pallet as much as other dishes did. We are so happy to see Jaipur coming up with such fantastic food concepts. We didn’t get a chance to try their desserts both times, and we would absolutely love to go back just for that. For more such reviews, follow us on Instagram and Facebook: twohangrywomen
First up, great ambiance, staff, service, decor etc. the exquisite crockery, cutlery set up the perfect mood and high expectations for a great meal. The vibes are great, very polite and friendly staff, a nice menu. Overall, perfect set up for a great meal. But sadly, it wasn’t matched up by food. Everything we tried was either disappointing, or marginally pretentious, or not as well thought through as the cafe decor. Drinks They’ve been talking a lot about their organic produce on Instagram and highly recommend their dragon fruit granita but that wasn’t available. Neither was mangosteen nor any coconut water drinks. So we just went in for coffee. 1. Affagato: the coffee was good, but the menu promised dulce de leche ice cream and we got vanilla. We checked with the server for that but he didn’t seem to know about it so we let it go. I expected the coffee and ice cream to come separately but they mixed it and brought to the table. It could be a personal preference but it just makes more sense to pour the coffee over ice cream at the table. 2. Coffee tonic: I chose cucumber tonic (maybe an instant response cause of my preference of cucumber in my gin and tonic) and the coffee was lost in all the cucumber flavour. Didn’t enjoy my drink at all. Mains: 1. Soft shell tacos: after raving on insta for weeks about their tacos and that tacos are classically soft and not crisp, theirs where surprisingly, somewhere in the middle. They were neither soft not crisp, rather they were sort of hard and chewy. They claimed to have been inspired by Indian accents pulled jackfruit fulka tacos but were no where close. The original ones come folded like a regular taco and the filling is sublime. The ones we had tasted like a regular jackfruit curry on an unpleasant base. The other two – refried beans and wild mushrooms were actually quite nice. 2. Ramen: the broth tasted watered down and flat. The noodles were over cooked. The greens were nice though.3. Wild mushrooms flat bread: the base was nice but the cheese was dry and stringy. I suppose they baked the pizza first and then topped with all the mushrooms and too much time was spent in the middle which led to the chewy texture in cheese. Te mushrooms were nice though.Overall, their very effective marketing on social media and beautiful decor is very beckoning but the food is a let down.
