When we couldn’t find a reservation at Ambrai, we found an equally appealing place opposite it – Amber. Found out it was relatively new and serves Mexican and Indian cuisine. My husband and I were mesemerized by the view from our table. The food was equally good. We loved their Mezze platter and chicken wings. Plus they had some different desserts to offer like the Eton Mess and Sticky chocolate cake. This was a much welcome break from the regular desserts we find at most places like a brownie, or ice cream. Had a magical evening. Glad we didn’t get a table at Ambrai!(With Gaurav Bhatia)
The pictures are misleading. The ambience & food is below average. The staff is novice & doesn’t even know what’s there in their menu. Needs a lot of improvement in their food preparations. Overall a disappointing place.
Indian food was not so good, waiter service is poor. We have to remind tham 2-3 times for 1 simple thing.in short don’t go there for indian food
A beautiful location with wonderful food. Go for the Pork Molkajete (also available in chicken, prawn and vegetarian variants) and the Camarones el Guajilo ( Prawns). Round it off with the incredibly wholesome Cake in a Cup.
This place makes some good Mexican food. I tried their Chicken tostadas. It’s basically a crunchy corn tortilla which is topped with refried beans, shredded chicken, some onions, cheese, sour cream and some yummy salsa. It was pretty good. Also tried their grilled Mexican prawn skewers which was very well cooked and seasoned and it was served with salsa and some really yummy Chipotle aioli. They make some really good fusion food too like Paneer Chipotle tikka and Chicken as well. This restaurant has a gorgeous view of the Lake Pichola and makes for a perfect romantic dinner date. Their menu is a mix of Mexican and Indian cuisine.
Great food and lovely ambience. Must try the cake in the cup if you’re up for a warm comfort dessert experience. The grilled chicken was well done and the salads didn’t quite disappoint. Worth the money after a long sunny day of being touristy. 🙂
