I have visited this restaurant after a gap of 14 years.In past it was known to be an iconic restaurant of Udaipur for Veg Thali located at Vintage car museum. Today I have taken my family for lunch. While each thali is moderately priced at ₹ 250, the menu variety and food quality has declined significantly. Starter was Moongdal pakodas with mint chutney which is crispy and tasty. In the main course we had Bati served with coarse dal which is tasteless. Curry items like Rajma, Paneer and Lauki were made with a strong hint of dahi based gravy which somehow does not impart the taste of the main ingredient at all. However Alu KA bhaji was quite tasteful . The buttermilk was okay but boondi raita had tinge of sourness of dahi. Kadi pakodi was okay.The pickles on the table were quite salty. Gulab Jamun as a dessert was fairly ok. The service is prompt and waiters are smiling and happy to service despite of the insipid thali they served. The ambience was same as it was decade ago. After we left we have experienced stomach bloating for quite sometime indicating something was not right in choice of ingredients. I hope the management does something drastic to restore its past glory and fame to delight the customers
To start with, like every traveller, trying rajasthani thali was a ‘must do thing’ in my bucket list.. This was when i was told about the garden thali restaurant by some locals.It shares a common entry with the vintage car museum.. Definitely an ideal place to eat for those who are planning to visit the museum. The ambience of the restaurant is cool, they have got neatly done curtains, well managed seating arrangement and some very courteous staff! But, the best part of the restaurant is the FOOD! They serve the best daal baati in the town(not over- spicy at all). Apart from it, my serving had innumerous dishes like curry, bhindi, paneer, aloo, chana along with rice, curd and salad. Believe me, your stomach will be full but your heart won’t agree and you will end up eating more.. The thali for just 250 bucks will make both your pocket and tummy feel satiated! P.S- Do leave some space for the laddoo at the end of your meal. 🙂

The place was decent. Service was really good and the ambience was simple.I may be mistaken, but I didn’t find some of the traditional Rajasthani dishes that I got in other thalis on my trip. The food seemed to be more akin to traditional Gujarati or Punjabi cuisine, but I may be wrong.If you’re a tourist in Udaipur, and are looking for traditional authentic thali options, then I’d give this place a miss. But the food was good, tasty and the place was good.
My full marks goes to this restaurant due to many reasons 1 food its authentic Rajasthani test 2 service is really good most of the staff is with them since long may be due to that food and service quality is consistent. I can’t count how many time I have visited this place but my udipur trip never ends without visiting this place. This property belongs to Royal family of udaipur, it’s a restaurant plus vintage car collection where u can find all well maintained classic cars of Royal family which includes make of rolls Royce, Mercedes, aston Martin, Cadillac, rambler, few classic Ford and so on.
Simple but very good Rajasthani thali , food was not spicy and had the right elements to a wholesome meal . They has 3 sabzi, daal, roti etcOne does not feel overfull and staff if good
