This is the all day dinning place that the hotel has. It is a lake view restaurant that is open all day. It serves all kinds of cuisines including the traditional marwadi dishes. The only disappointing thing that I felt at this restaurant was that the crockery and cutlery is worn out with scratches on it. This could be excused at any other property but not at a Taj property. The food is average, but hospitality is wonderful and the lake seldom fails to take your breath away. This is also the place that serves breakfast to the guests. You can choose to have breakfast outside of the breakfast with a wonderful view of the garden and the fountains.
Once upon a time there was a King & Queen, both very much in love with each other. One day the queen died. Upon her death the King commissioned a beautiful structure as her tomb, the effort was monumental. Ditto with the structure. Called the Taj, it is known to the world as a symbol of love.Me & my husband thought a bit differently, the place is magnificent no doubt, but why wait for your partner to die before you can express your heartfelt feeling! So we decided to jump the queue and visit on our wedding anniversary and found our symbol of love at the Taj Lake Palace, Lake Pichola, Udaipur. You will be treated like King and queen on your special occasions! This resident only, island hotel is one of the most exclusive and exquisite palace hotels in the world. You will find yourself cocooned in luxury. Check in to feel the golden warmth of the sun rising over the city and bathing it’s terrace and then again watch it slip behind the pristine Aravvali mountains as you take a boat ride around the lake. Sit by the window and enjoy the city lights playfully reflect in the Pichola Lake, this architectural marvel was built not as a grand palace for running the affairs of the kingdom, but as a personal retreat for the royal family. And the management at this hotel leaves no stone unturned to make you feel like royalty youself. The Taj hospitality is legendary and here it gets accentuated by the setting. Every evening the inner a courtyard next to the liabrary bar comes alive as a venue for music and dance. The hotel guest get to nurse their drinks and watch the traditional folk dances just like the King and his family did hundreds of years ago. A visit to the Taj Lake Pichola perhaps costs the same as a brief European holiday, but be assured that every rupee spent is an investment of lifetime memories. While making your booking don’t hesitate over the higher rates for the lake view rooms, just go for it, once you are there, all you are likely to say is “Wah! Taj”
A restaurant with the MOST Beautiful view of the Lake ! This place surely beats every other restaurant in Udaipur when it comes to it’s location. Their decor, cutlery, crockery, designing around etc is just PERFECT! Food – as one can expect is at par with all the other Taj properties 🙂 A must visit if in Udaipur!
Only one word to describe all the constraints of this place! That will be”excellent”♥️ It’s always good be at a place full of joy and happening environment, with this experience you can get a great dine experience and good value for money.
We stayed at the Taj lake palace for three nights and had most of our meals here. The breakfast buffet was good, although not as extensive as some of the other hotels that we have stayed. The Indian selection was excellent though. The ala carte menu is great. We tried almost all the Taj signature dishes. All were great, in taste, presentation and portion size. The sheesh touk and the fish Exotica deserve special mention. The ambiance, as described in almost every other review is breathtaking, especially if you get those lake facing tables. Last but not the least, is the Taj service that makes this restaurant truly amazing. I an bad at remembering names but Pramod was there on all days to check if we were enjoying all the dishes and if we required any customization.
