Went here on a recent trip to Gangtok hoping to enjoy Nepali, Tibetan and Sikkimese food. But most of the things that we asked for were not available. Further, the food was tasteless and ended up giving me an upset stomach. When it came to paying the bill, we wanted to split the payment and swipe two cards. The restaurant came up with a lame excuse stating that their policy does not allow then to do so. Never heard of such a lame policy. Eventually, they agreed to swipe two separate cards, but the entire experience (food, service) was pathetic and left a bad taste in my mouth (as if the food hadn’t already done enough damage).
One of my finest fooding experiences. What a dinner. Best decision we could’ve made. Do not miss the local cuisine that is very accurately served, well described with great service and fabulous taste. Must try is the Thakali Thali (Nepali Thali) and Tongba.

Went here for lunch today. The decor is really nice and the music they play is quite nice too. It’s a must visit for traditional Sikkimese food. I tried the thakali thaali. In the thali you get rice, 3 types of traditional pickle, mustard green subzi, tareko aloo (potato subzi), vegetable subzi (today was mushroom subzi), and two types of daal. The potato subzi and mustard green subzi were really good. The service was decent too.
Stumbled across the restuarant while roaming on the MG Marg. Seemed decent enough from the outside. Has really good Ambiance. Ordered Momos, Jhol and Steamed. The taste wasn’t good enough. The Chutney with the steamed Momos was delicious. The service however was terrible. Had to ask repeatedly for basic things like water, cutlery and menu. The server wasn’t interested in explaining what the dishes were and given the fact that they serve traditional dishes, a tourist like me does need that extra help.In any case, not at all satisfied with the restaurant here.
Must go for every local food lover, authentic flavours, must experiment, the servers must be trained to educate non locals about the food and the best way to enjoy every bite, overall a very good experience.
