Located just outside the Butt road Mosque, near the gate. The place is a little dirty and not well maintained. Usually empty but is packed on Friday noon (because of prayer). Not too costly neither too cheap. If you are hungry and you need to really have biryani with Rs. 100 in pocket then you might have it here.Ambience 1/5Service 2/5Price 3/5Taste 2.5/5

Was roaming around Aasife and Brothers biriyani hotel this afternoon. Having fed up with Aasife, I just happened to see this small hotel next to the Old Aasife. The biriyani smell reached me even when I was three shops away. So I decided to have a biriyani der. It is a wayside shop that can barely accommodate 12 people. The taste of the Biriyani was definitely better than Aasife-Both old and new . That too at 100 rupees. If u plan for a take away order, don’t hesitate to visit this shop just based on the external appearance.

Bismillah Biriyani Buttroad St.Thomas MountChennai #biriyanitrails #antonego believe’s biriyani is an entity which can never be reproduced the same way time and again; Yet- the closer to being consistent in the flavour buds is what makes the difference; be it countless times one standardises the ingredient component; Time is also the key; The temperature in which the whole spices crackle also triggers minute differences in taste notes; Having grown up with at-least 3 to 4 servings of biriyani every week it’s still hard to say convincingly that whose and which biriyani stands the wrath of times; but for the few which stood could be categorised Legendary. Decoding Bismillah Biriyani : 3 instances stands out with respect to my Biriyani experience in my lifetime thus far:1. The expedition after the movie King Kong with my uncle at Sukkubai biriyani Center : Year 19892. Hot Biriyani right from the bottom of the cooked hundi on a bowl, inside a cold room: Year 19993. After a interview which I got selected for a luxury cruise liner I decided to treat myself at Paradise Hyderabad 2010Aroma : The aroma in the air is what brought me to Bismillah, I have know this joint since my childhood, he was the immediate competition for Asife brothers, some how he was not able to match the marketing gimmicks of his counterpart. The aroma is quite extra ordinary during 12 PM when the cook decides to open the dum, I always say that’s the best time to grab them.Texture and Taste: With all the apprehensions how a texture of a biriyani should look; Bismillah biriyani has its niche, grainy yet perfectly cooked, separate with gracious amount of masala, that’s how the Chennaivasi likes it Location: it’s easy to spot right next to the mosque at Buttroad, Way before the Chennai Trade Centre, where the Mile stone stands depicting the amount of Kms to Poonamallee, Price : 100₹ for a generous portion with egg and onion pachadi and Ennai kathrikai. Verdict : Some biriyanis tend to set a niche and they are always there to stay, as #antonego always says the best street food in chennai is not the idly or the dosa or the Bajjis it’s got to be the Biriyanis of chennai, multi cultural and found at every nook and corner.
