Very nice restaurant. Staffs are friendly. The menu card is very creative and that attracts me for the first time and after that their food is attracting. When ever I am in Madurai I never missed an opportunity to visit this place. Keep up your good work guys. All the best..!
Food: Trying to bring the “parambariyam” into our restaurants. Food choices as gaadi chops, vadivaasal chicken etc. are new to to the regular users. Although can’t say that the taste is new to us. It ends up being just another restaurant on that aspect.Ambience: with options of both indoor and outdoor diners, the outdoor gives a raw and and nice feel to have food in. Quite unique in the ambience perspective.Cost: Averaging 250 per person, I personally think it’s slightly high the quality of food delivered.
good food
When someone asks me about Vaadivaasal, the first thing that struck my mind was Jallikattu , but as of now it is the restaurant. My dad was craving for some hearty food that captures the soul of Madurai. Considering the fact that we had gorged our way through the famous Messes of Madurai , we were in search more.My college-mates keep telling me that Vaadivaasal had some great food, so j decided to give this joint a shot. The minute I got down from the auto, i noticed the sign board having the word Vaadivaasal being morphed into a bull. Nice try in paying homage to JallikattuWalking in , I instantly noticed the multiple dining areas and a play area in the centre. I liked this decor very much , sticking to the Village theme is really great.Staff sat us down immediately and handed us the menus , here comes the best part. The menu is pretty much themed on Vadivelu’s quips. I have never had such a laugh while reading a restaurant menu. Kudos Vaadivaasal !We went for some staples today . Went for two mutton Kotthus 6 pieces of Kola Urundai each and a plate of 65.The dining area is quite cool and comfortable to sit and have a chat . Food took 25 minutes to come and my Lord was is piping hot.The portions are good and they give some good salna along with the Kotthu. The Kola Urundais were fabulous. Crisp exterior with soft , spicy and steamy meat inside.Chicken 65 too was good , nice good chunks of chicken well marinated and fried well. Mutton Kotthu was my favourite though. Good amount of mutton and great flavour , add the salna and vóila the flavour is amped up !Pricing is quite reasonable, and the servers were polite and well versed in all the stuff that they serve. My friends were surprised that I didn’t order the chops as that’s what Vaadivaasal was famous for. I thought I will give it a go the next time I eat at Vaadivaasal.Wonderful atmosphere for family and friends , if you’re in Madurai Vaadivaasal should be given a try !
